First Baptist Church on the Square is located in downtown LaGrange, Georgia, the county seat of Troup County. LaGrange is located an hour southwest of Atlanta, off I-85 near the Alabama State line. This unique point on the map allows easy access to the capital city of Georgia while retaining a leisurely, rural lifestyle. FBC had its beginnings on April 12, 1828 in a local home and was the vision of eleven founding members. Since that meeting long ago, the church has come to occupy a prominent place at the corner of Church and Broad Streets in downtown LaGrange. The campus currently includes the main sanctuary, Christian Family Life Center, Ida Cason Callaway Chapel, New Life Building, Child Development Center, and church office building. While the physical buildings are a great blessing, the heart of FBC is its people. For more information about FBC and LaGrange visit: www.fbclagrange.org and www.visitlagrange.com.
