About True Life Community Church
True Life Community Church was founded in 2019 with a mission to join together with our community in the St. Charles 370 Valley to help others find their true life in Christ. We are a warm, family-oriented Southern Baptist congregation averaging 50-80 worshippers each week. Our church is primarily made up of working families with children, and we engage in modern musical worship led by our worship team. Our community draws from both suburban middle and upper-middle-class neighborhoods as well as long-established farming families, giving our church a unique blend of backgrounds, perspectives, and generational roots. As we enter a new season of ministry, we are prayerfully seeking the next Senior Pastor God has prepared to lead and shepherd our church.
Role Summary
- The Senior Pastor provides spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, pastoral care, and oversight of the staff, deacon team, and church ministries. This leader will help cast vision for the future, shepherd our families with compassion, and equip our congregation to live out the mission of helping others find true life in Christ.
Key Responsibilities
1. Preaching & Teaching
- Prepare and deliver biblically faithful, Christ-centered sermons weekly.
- Lead and oversee teaching ministries across age groups.
- Ensure doctrinal faithfulness in alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.
2. Pastoral Care
- Provide prayer, encouragement, and biblical counseling to individuals and families.
- Visit and support congregants during times of need, illness, or crisis.
- Officiate weddings, funerals, baptisms, and baby dedications.
3. Leadership & Vision
- Seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance in leading the church toward its mission.
- Collaborate with elders, staff, and deacons.
- Develop and strengthen ministries that serve working families and children.
- Encourage a culture of discipleship, generosity, and community outreach.
4. Administration
- Provide leadership and support to staff and volunteers.
- Oversee day-to-day church operations in partnership with the leadership team (elders and deacons).
- Personnel management, scheduling, Planning Center
- Assist in financial stewardship, budgeting, and long-term planning.
5. Community Engagement
- Build connections within the St. Charles 370 Valley communities: New Town, Orchard Farm, West Alton, Portage de Sioux, etc…
- Build and foster relationships with community leaders and other churches in the area.
- Represent True Life Community Church in local partnerships and outreach efforts.
- Encourage the congregation to serve and share the gospel in their daily lives.
Qualifications
Spiritual Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a growing walk with Him.
- Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1).
- Committed to prayer, Scripture, evangelism, and shepherding.
- Alignment with SBC doctrine and values (Baptist Faith & Message 2000).
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field OR prior pastoral experience required; senior leadership preferred.
- Seminary degree (preferred).
- Strong preaching, teaching, and communication abilities.
Personal Characteristics
- Approachable, relational, and able to connect with families.
- Humble, Spirit-led, and teachable.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Passionate about reaching the community for Christ.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
