Hillsdale Blvd. Baptist Church of Sacramento, California, is a Southern Baptist Church of 100 plus seeking an ordained and licensed senior pastor following the retirement of our previous pastor after 20 years of service.
Position Title: Senior Pastor
Objective of the Position:
Serve as Shepherd and Spiritual Overseer of the congregation, providing leadership and general supervision of the vision, welfare and progress of the Church according to Holy Scriptures and in the model of the New Testament church as described in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

Our Church
HBBC was founded in 1964. Our location is in a vibrant part of the Sacramento, CA area and we are blessed with a beautiful property of approximately 3 acres and facilities that are fully paid for. The main sanctuary seats 500 and prior to the closing of McClellan AFB attendance was full. We are a church of about 115 active congregants, with an attendance that currently averages 85 in person and online. Our primary schedule includes Sunday school, Sunday morning Worship Service (streamed via YouTube), Wednesday Fellowship Family Dinner, Wednesday Prayer Meeting and Bible Study. Additionally there are small group Bible studies and worship team/choir rehearsals. Our congregation is highly involved and we enjoy many programs and ministries. Many of our members are 50 or older and have been attending 10 years or even 20 and more. Congregation members describe us as being a family and being very loving, friendly, welcoming, and “nice.” Hillsdale has a well-developed organizational structure that relieves our pastor of much of the day-to-day minutiae of supporting our physical plant and the programming, freeing him up to concentrate on developing the vision, strategy and planning to optimize our resources for the glory of God.
Our Challenges
We have a passion for those in the community around us who need the saving grace of our Lord and to become part of a church family. Renewal of programs for children, youth and young adults seems of high priority. Preparing the church to move ahead over the next 20 years is paramount. With an aging congregation, home and hospital visitation is becoming more important.
Basic Requirements
· A mature Christian with a strong testimony and dependence on prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit.
· Called to be a pastor with all that implies.
· At least a Bachelor’s degree in ministry, but a seminary/masters degree is preferred.
· Be intimately knowledgeable and in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
· Have proven leadership qualities.
· Demonstrate skill at communication and developing relationships.
· Be a visionary.
· Have a variety of styles for delivering sermons.
· Experienced in counseling.
· Be committed to the support of the Southern Baptist Convention and willing to participate in state and local level organizations.
Compensation package
In the range of $50,000.
