Café - Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY

The Bay Church is seeking an experienced Café - Shift Supervisor to lead strategy, planning and execution, as well as advancing the mission, vision, and values of The Bay Church. Based in Brentwood, California, the Shift Supervisor will manage and supervise the team to create a friendly and inviting environment for the The Bay Café. We are looking for someone committed to continual development as a leader and mature Christ-follower.

DESCRIPTION

-Oversee the overall operation of the café, from staffing, product offerings/orders, recruiting and care of the team

-Serve as the café staff expert, providing ongoing training ensuring high quality product, professionalism, and culture

-Ensure that all team members deliver quality customer service to café guests

-Manage, disciple, and care for the barista and volunteer café teams, assist with their needs and resolve any concerns or difficulties

-Create and distribute team schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage and rotations

-Implement systems, processes, and policies for the café that support and align with overall church vision, goals, policies and protocols

-Work with supervisor to develop, implement, and manage the budget, inventory, and calendar

-Develop, participate and oversee café performance standards, goals, and priorities

-Ensure the café team is prepared and trained on all safety and security protocols

-Ensure compliance with all food-handling, business, and government agencies

Type of Position: Part-Time (12-15 hours/week)

Pay Range: $20.00 - $24.00/hour

The Bay Church in Concord CA was founded in a storefront in 1931, in what was at that time, the small rural town of Concord, California. The church has experienced much growth over the years and built successive buildings on Galindo Street, Clayton Road, and today our current site on Evora Road.

In 2020, our members and the members from Harvest Time Assembly voted unanimously to merge the two churches. We officially became one church in two locations, and the next chapter of our future is now being created.
