Youth Pastor

Requirements:

• Candidate must have the qualifications of an elder as seen in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 Titus 1:6-9.

• He must have a calling evidenced by a desire to pastor and affirmation of that call from those around him.

• He should have a degree in theology at the undergraduate or seminary level.

• He should have ministry experience with references.

Skills:

• Teaching, especially youth, counseling

• Ability to connect with students

• Communication for overseeing and leading the youth ministry

• Teachability and willingness to serve as a part of the pastoral and elder team

• Preaching

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the youth ministry as a part of the Mission and Vision of Winfield Baptist Church

• Build relationships with students and parents, being available for discipleship, counseling, and other meetings

• Lead and teach the youth group on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings

• Serve as a part of the pastoral team and the elder board

• Participate in local FCA, Wordless Book Club, and other student ministries

• Be a presence and resource to our students and in the community

• Coordinate youth events such as quarterly events at the church as well as participating in events like Youth Evangelism Conference, Summit Camp/Church Camp, etc.

• Assist in pastoral administrative duties shared among the staff

We are a church of just over 300 people. We have a very even age mix across our congregation with about a third of the congregation between birth and 18 years old. Our youth group includes students from all four of our county high schools.
