Worship Pastor/Leader

We are looking for an anointed and dynamic worship leader/pastor who leads from an instrument and has strong experience building, training, and leading teams. This person will partner with our lead pastor who is passionate about developing a powerful weekly worship experience. This position will oversee an established Worship Media team and be hourly for a range of 20-30 hours a week.

POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will oversee an established Worship Media team and be hourly for a range of 20-30 hours a week.

WHO WE ARE MUSIC STYLE NewportNaz is located on the central Oregon coast. Our city is known for its strong local fishing community and tourist destination. We are apart of the Nazarene denomination and yet we are not a traditional church. It is our desire to bring more of a modern sound to our church. We are a band church, not a choir church. If a choir was added to the team it must be modern. Our current worship genre includes Hillsong, Bethel, Crowder, Maverick City, Elevation, Tomlin, etc. We would love to expand our repertoire and sound by adding a diversified flare as well.

RENOVATION Beginning in 2019, our church made several major investments in upgrading our Sound Media dept. This project included a total overhaul to the audio sound board, speakers and snake. Our livestream had an upgrade in 2020 and 2024. Our lighting systems had a small upgrade 3 years ago but it’s far from complete. We want to continue to improve our equipment and design but are waiting for the new worship leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pray for, support, and be an extension of the vision and values of NewportNaz Church. Our Vision is to help people: Encounter God, Grow in Freedom, Discover Purpose, and Make a Difference.

• Pray for, encourage, and provide pastoral care to the Worship Media Teams under your care. • Work with the lead pastor to plan and execute a powerful worship experience where people encounter the presence of God. • Leverage the features of Planning Center by scheduling volunteers and planning a clearly communicated order of service for all teams. • Leverage MultiTracks Playback to use tracks, pads, click tracks, etc. to maximize the effectiveness of the worship team and enhance the experience for the congregation. • Plan and run regular rehearsals in an effort to fulfill our value of excellence in the area of worship. • Disciple volunteers under your care with devotionals at weekly rehearsals and encourage accountability to ensure that the team is involved in other church discipleship and connection opportunities. • Recruit, train, and hold accountable team members to protect the unity of the church while modeling a life yielded to the Holy Spirit. • Execute, promote, and tweak a clear audition process to onboard skilled musicians and singers onto the team efficiently. • Serve alongside our contracted Graphic Designer to help continue to achieve “our look” through the collaborative creation of sermon series art, promotional graphics, etc. • Develop, oversee, and steward the annual worship media budget. • Oversee the broadcast team and the livestream experience and ensure volunteers are adequately trained and equipment is working properly. • Develop Oversee a production team (audio, lighting, and presentation) and the Sunday experience while being competent and knowledgeable in church technology lanes. • Oversee graphics and videos for Sunday worship experiences. • Oversee the maintenance and upgrades made to our A/V and production equipment. • Be available to assist with music for funerals and weddings, monthly worship nights, and any other outreach events (as needed). • Work well with the rest of the team in planning, evaluating, and executing life-giving ministry at NewportNaz. • Participate in church-wide outreach fellowship events. • Lead a Journey group once a year. • Additional duties as determined by the lead pastor.

• Committed Follower of Jesus • Anointed worshipper • Passion for the arts • Teachable spirit • Empowering to others • Technically skilled (Planning Center, ProPresenter 7, MultiTracks, Sound Board, Lighting Console, Etc.) • Strong musical background and able to speak the language of musicians and direct them at a high level. • Proficient vocalist and able to teach vocal parts • Driven and able to meet deadlines • Engagement on social media platforms • Strong leader • Team-oriented • Good communication skills • Fun to be around and work with
