Job Title: Associate Pastor
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Position Status: Full‐Time, Salaried
Purpose: The role of the Associate Pastor is to assist the Lead Pastor in implementing the spiritual vision at Riverstone Church. The expectation of the candidate is to have a growing, personal relationship with Christ, and a big heart for youth and families.
The Associate Pastor must have a firm grasp on the vision, core values, and beliefs of Riverstone Church to help develop leaders amongst the staff, volunteers, and congregation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Support Lead Pastor
- Support Lead Pastor in the overall vision casting and leadership of the church’s teaching, preaching, and weekend service planning, design, and execution.
- Fill in for Lead Pastor as needed with sermons, weddings and funerals. Preach sermons that are biblically sound, Christ-centered, and relevant to the lives of those in the congregation.
- Provide biblical counseling to congregation members on spiritual matters as necessary.
- Coordinate and assist with ministry teams, including administrative tasks, special projects, and teaching.
Emphasis on Youth Ministry
- Engage students in their relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ, and being empowered by the Holy Spirit.
- Have the ability to connect with youth relationally and to foster healthy interpersonal relationships among the youth.
- Lead Riverstone’s Wednesday night youth services and collaborate with youth volunteers before, during, and after Wednesday night programming.
- Help coordinate Riverstone’s mission efforts, including local and international outreach events.
- Connect and communicate with parents/guardians regularly to encourage them to participate in the youth’s faith journey.
Professional Expectations
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding the day-to-day function and personal affairs of Riverstone Church.
- Model servant leadership and open communications to Riverstone team ministries, volunteers, staff, and the congregation.
- Be responsible for working with and helping to grow and maintain life groups at Riverstone Church.
- The ability to maintain good rapport with church members, staff, and the community.
Job Skills and Requirements (Consideration will be given to all who meet the following criteria:)
- Must have a heart for Jesus and His Gospel.
- Must have biblical leadership skills.
- Consideration will be given to all who apply. Preference may be given to candidates with an applicable degree from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a staff member or volunteer in a ministry leadership capacity.
- A self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication and conflict management skills.
- Possess administrative and organizational skills as well as the ability to utilize current technology in communicating and teaching such as Microsoft Office and Google Services.
Benefits:
$60,000-72,000 base salary including housing allowance
