Worship Leader

Position Overview

Purpose:

Timberlake Church is seeking a Worship Leader to play a collaborative role in both traditional and modern worship services. This position supports the Minister of Worship Communications by assisting in overseeing vocal, instrumental, and worship elements. Our Worship Leader will help bring a blend of musical, technical, and organizational skills to create a unified and uplifting worship environment that aligns with Timberlake Church's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

Service Planning Participation:

• Collaborate in planning and coordinating all elements of traditional and modern worship services.

• Help to lead vocally and instrumentally during services, ensuring seamless execution of worship elements.

• Assist in directing the traditional choir and modern worship band, including anthems, specials, and congregational music.

• Participate in weekly production team meetings to develop detailed service schedules.

• Organize and manage sacraments such as Communion and Baptism.

• Recruit and train volunteers for both traditional and modern worship services.

Music Preparation Purchasing:

• Organize, file, and distribute sheet music and multi-tracks for services and events.

• Help to ensure all licensing requirements are met and maintained.

• Manage and distribute information for musicians using Planning Center.

• Create custom chord charts based on piano lead sheets and organize them weekly as needed.

Administrative Duties:

• Assist with all worship communication needs in collaboration with the Minister of Worship Communications.

• Schedule and coordinate worship and production team members to meet volunteer needs.

• Maintain worship and production team rosters/groups within Planning Center.

• Prepare and plan all service and event elements efficiently.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Support the planning and execution of ministry events requiring AV and musical expertise.

• Provide spiritual leadership and mentoring to staff and volunteers.

• Collaborate with all ministry staff to further Timberlake Church's mission.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Experience:

• High School Diploma required; further education in music or ministry preferred.

• Proven experience leading worship in both traditional and modern styles.

• Agreement with Timberlake Church’s Statement of Faith, vision, mission, worship culture, and environment required.

• Proficient in vocal and instrumental leadership.

• Experience with church production/technical systems and software (e.g. ProPresenter, Planning Center Online, Microsoft Office, Apple Environment) is a plus.

Skills Aptitudes:

• Strong and dynamic vocal and instrumental music abilities.

• High interpersonal and relational skills.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Energetic self-starter with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.

• Proficient in conflict resolution and constructive communication.

• Tenacious, consistent, and detail-oriented.

• Ability to problem-solve through self-led discovery and research.

• Basic knowledge of music notation preferred.
