About the Position
The Minister to Students and Young Adults is charged with the development, promotion, and supervision of the church programs for students and young adults. He will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor and Administrative Pastor in shared ministry areas.
Job Responsibilities & Duties
Administrative:
- Direct the planning, conducting, coordinating, and evaluating of a comprehensive education program based on program tasks and needs.
- Work with division leaders to plan a program for leading an individual to a knowledge of the plan of salvation and to develop them in Christian nurture.
- Lead in planning and conducting special age group activities and programs as appropriate for the spiritual growth of the youth of the church including such activities as youth week, drama, retreats, conferences, camps, fellowship, banquets, and mission activities.
- Assist in enlisting and training organizational leadership in cooperation with the church nomination committee and ministry teams.
- Leading discussion and application of applying scriptural truths in helping participants to develop a biblical world view for the purpose of enabling them to stand and contend for the faith. Scriptural Reference: Jude 3
- Organize and direct a church wide visitation program for youth and young adults.
- Coordinate budget preparation for the assigned program ministry of the church and other assigned areas and administer the approved budget.
- Supervise the work of assigned paid staff workers and be responsible for evaluating the group’s administrative assistant.
- Keep informed on methods, materials, principles, procedures, promotions and administrative techniques as related to the educational programs and attend those conferences that promise the potential to provide a wider scope. Also cooperate with association and state leaders in promotion activities of mutual interest.
- Perform staff duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
- Be familiar with and agree to abide by a Code of Conduct and Ethics that is formulated, ratified and adopted by Great Bridge Baptist Church.
Ministerial:
- In all activities recognize opportunities for Evangelism.
- Developing strategic plan of teaching and serving within the context of GBBC
- Provide guidance and direction for those who are struggling.
- Be able to teach and present an inspiring presence – engage and relate to those in his care.
- Utilize all current media channels to connect with young people in the way that they can relate to.
- In all areas, conduct themselves as a well-rounded individual that is comfortable participating in a variety of activities and environments.
- Participate and cooperate in the mission strategy of our church.
- In coordination with the other staff ministers in a shared leadership role, work to maximize the ministerial effectiveness of every called individual. As part of a team, address congregational needs in some or more of the following areas:
- Hospital visitation
- Prospect cultivation
- Counseling
- Promotion of all church programs
- Public relations
- Committee Involvement
