Harvest is a church steeped in a liturgical model of worship and congregationally led. Our multi-generational congregation of over one hundred is made up of people from all stages of life, including young families and students from the local college. Congregants come from a variety of denominational backgrounds and value unity around the essentials of the faith, authentic community, weekly communion, shared leadership and preaching models, and generous support of local and global mission work.

Job Summary
The Youth Ministry Coordinator plans, coordinates, and oversees the youth ministry within the church. This role involves organizing events, Bible studies, and activities that encourage spiritual growth, fellowship, and service among the youth in the congregation.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning and Development
- Develop and implement an annual plan for the youth ministry, including:
- One or two annual events (e.g. mission trip, retreat, conference, etc.)
- One monthly service project (currently serving at Christian Action Ministries.)
- Weekly meeting during Equipping Hour (Sunday Morning)
- Weekly midweek gathering (currently Wednesday)
- Coordinate with the church office to ensure the program does not conflict with other church events or ministries.
- Incorporate parent involvement and family discipleship opportunities with the programming plan.
Spiritual Leadership
- Work with the Coordinating Minister to identify and develop potential leaders within the youth ministry.
- Work with the Coordinating Minister to organize Bible studies and discipleship programs tailored to the needs of youth.
- Help integrate youth into the greater church body through discipleship, mentoring, and church-wide activities.
- Coordinate and help teach Kids Discipleship Class.
Event Coordination
- Plan and organize youth ministry events, such as retreats, conferences, workshops, and service projects.
- Oversee logistics, budgeting, and promotion of these events.
Communication
- Communicate regularly with parents about the ministry and teaching.
- Communicate regularly with the church office about any changes in the calendar of events.
- Communicate regularly with the Coordinating Minister about any needs of youth that need to be addressed through discipleship or programming.
Qualifications
- A personal faith in Jesus and adherence to the beliefs and doctrines of the church, including the EFCA Statement of Faith.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of relevant biblical teachings and principles.
- Experience in coordinating and leading ministry activities.
- Ability to connect with and relate to youth of various ages (7th-12th grade) and backgrounds.
- Pass a background check.
Compensation
$20,800/year (~20 hours/week at $20/hour)
