Associate Pastor/ Youth Ministry

Dudley Shoals Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a Associate Pastor/Youth Ministry. The primary responsibility of this position will be to provide leadership and teaching for the youth ministry of our church (7th-12th grades). He must exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Jesus, is spiritually mature, enthusiastic, and someone to bring fresh vision and leadership to this already healthy ministry. Our goal is for students to Come to Christ, to Grow in Him, and to Serve Jesus in advancing the gospel beyond youth group.

This position will work to establish intentional relationships with the church’s families by encouraging and equipping parents to disciple their children. This person will assist the lead pastor in areas of preaching, worship leadership, visitation, counseling, and administration as needed.

He will also have responsibility to work with certain committees providing leadership and assistance. Some of these primary responsibilities will include: Working with the pastor on special courses of study throughout the year, working closely with church committees, leaders, and staff in programming learning opportunities, making himself available to counsel and confer when required with persons who seek help of any nature, providing leadership for the youth ministry of our church, working with their families, and the youth fellowship committee.

Ultimately it is our vision that he would love the Lord and the Word of God, be willing to cultivate a team mindset working with our staff, and have a heart for God’s church.

Qualifications:

• College degree and/or seminary degree desirable

• Mature in the faith and a thorough understanding of the Bible

• Ability to recruit and train leaders in the area of youth

• Ability to work with the Lead Pastor staff

• Strong abilities in administrative areas

• Agreement with the statement of faith of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church

• Commitment to personal disciplines of prayer, Bible reading, ministry and sharing his faith

• Lead the youth in regular times of discipleship

• Experience in student ministry desired
