Looking for a man to lead our worship during morning worship services. Currently a traditional leaning contemporary blend. Prefer someone with some experience and ability to play guitar, piano or keyboard (or spouse who can).
Desired worship: Contemporary worship with old and current hymns blended in.
Optional: Opportunity to also lead our youth ministry possible.
We are a Southern Baptist Church in Upstate NY. Our current Sunday morning attendance is about 115. We have expository preaching, currently in the Book of Galatians. We are very conservative with an emphasis on standing for Biblical truth. We have LifeGroups (Sunday School) and AWANA. We believe in the Sovereignty of God but do not consider ourselves Calvinistic. We also have a strong emphasis on Biblical prophecy, focusing on a premillenial, pre-tribulation rapture view of the end times. We desire to be evangelistic through outreach and events. We believe only men can Biblically serve in the role of Pastors and Deacons.
Our community is a mix of rural, suburban and small city. We enjoy all four seasons, including humid summers with temperatures occasionally in the 90s, and cold winters with lots of snow, temperatures getting down to 0 degrees.
We are close to mountains, lakes and many states, including 3-4 hours to the Jersey Shore. We are about 3.5 hours north of New York City, 3-4 hours west of Boston, MA, 6 hours east of Niagara Falls. We have a small town feel with many independent shops and restaurants, as well as nationwide chains and franchises. We have two large malls and two smaller malls in the area. We have several private Christian schools and our church hosts three homeschool co-ops.
