Children's & Family Ministry Director

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Children’s Family Ministries is responsible to lead and direct the Children’s Ministry at AHCC, developing and overseeing programs that help kids and families grow into healthy followers of Jesus. This includes creating strategies, building leaders and equipping volunteers to develop a safe environment for kids to flourish. The Director will create a culture and ministry where children and families are valued, Jesus Christ is treasured and biblical seeds are planted for gospel growth.

RESPONSIBILTIES

• Work towards the mission of the church, in concert with the vision of the Board and Lead Pastor and under the spiritual authority of the Elders

• Serve as the spiritual leader for Children’s Ministry, kids, their families and volunteers

• Implement the mission, vision and values of the Children’s Ministry

• Create and implement a discipleship strategy

• Develop and grow a Volunteer Leadership Team to lead individual ministries

• Oversee volunteer recruitment, training and development

• Create and implement a communication strategy to keep families informed

• Train and equip parents to disciple their children through strategic resources

• Oversee children’s ministry curriculum

• Create outward focused family events for engagement and connection

• Attend and participate in staff and leadership meetings/trainings

• Manage ministry budget

QUALIFICATIONS

• Be fully committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

• Maintain habits of spiritual health (Bible reading, prayer, regular worship, giving, Sabbath, etc.), growing in biblical knowledge, ministry skills and personal transformation

• Humility and a heart to serve

• Preferred 3-5 years’ experience in children’s ministry or similar environment
