Lolo Community Church is seeking an associate pastor for worship and ministry. This is a full-time position in which the pastor’s time will be split equally between leading our church’s worship ministry and other pastoral duties that support the growth and ministry of the church as a whole.
This position involves:
1. leading the worship ministry of the church by forming and casting a vision for building up the church body through musical worship.
2. working with the lead pastor to plan the Sunday worship service, with special focus on the time of musical worship. This will involve choosing congregational songs that engage the body, lead them to praise God, accurately teach biblical truth and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word.
3. Modelling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style that draws people in, encourages participation and points people to Jesus.
4. Recruiting, auditioning, teaching and training musicians in the church to serve the congregation with musical skill and humility.
5. Encouraging, supporting and working alongside existing worship teams in the church.
6. Working with the pastor and elders to support and enhance the wider ministry of the church, including ministries like teaching, preaching, visitation, counselling and other such duties.
We are seeking someone who:
1. Has spiritual character and maturity that meets or aims to meet the biblical qualities of eldership as described in Scripture. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)
2. Is gifted at teaching.
3. Has a heart for shepherding the people of God. (1 Peter 5:1-4)
4. Aligns doctrinally with the church’s theological beliefs.
5. Displays musical ability on at least one instrument and a desire and capacity to lead worship, partner with existing worship volunteers and teams, and cast a biblical vision for worship in our church.
6. Possesses the leadership and organizational skills to lead the worship ministry.
7. Has the ability to work humbly and graciously in a team environment made up of pastoral staff, elders, deacons and lay ministry leaders.
8. Demonstrates a commitment to this congregation and its mission.
Educational Qualifications: A Bible College degree or equivalent training and pastoral
experience.
