Worship Director for Spanish Ministries

Summary of Position:

The Worship Director for Spanish Ministries is to provide ministry leadership and oversight to the worship ministries of our Spanish Ministries and to disciple the people of our Spanish Ministries through his life and song/music

Specific Responsibilities:

• - Plan and coordinate with the Spanish Ministries Pastor to create well-planned and engaging Sunday worship services. This includes directing corporate worship in the Spanish Worship gathering(s) and special programs of our Spanish Ministries in consultation with the Spanish Ministries Pastor, with prayer, forethought, theological accuracy, sensitivity to the Spirit, and musical appropriateness. Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service are well-planned, rehearsed, and suited to advance the theme for the day.
• - Working closely with the Worship Pastor to ensure that our Spanish Worship Ministry aligns with the vision and values of FBC.
• - Leads worship and/or finds volunteers to lead worship at Spanish events.
• - Leads a Faith group and becomes closely involved in the life of the congregation.
• - Oversee all aspects of the Spanish Ministries worship ministry to function together cohesively, overseeing song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting, and coordination of all instrumentalists, vocalists, and other volunteers/staff.
• - Set, attain, evaluate, modify, and submit to the Spanish Ministries Pastor short-term and long-term goals for the worship ministry that align with the vision and mission of our Spanish Ministries
• - Encourage team members and strengthen community and relationships among them.
• - Recruit, develop, train, and equip worship leaders to be sent out (also identifying potential worship leaders) • Recruit, audition, train, equip, and maintain volunteer worship/technical teams.
• - Develop and maintain Faith’s Spanish Ministries song repertoire, giving special attention to the theology of every song. Three main criteria are always in play about songs: Biblical, Christ-centered, -and aligned to the sermon for the day.
• - Submit an annual Spanish Worship Ministry budget to the Spanish Ministries Pastor for evaluation, approval, and administer the approved budget.
• - The Worship Director will direct the Audio/Visual Team, and volunteers who will assist in the duties of the Worship Director for Spanish Ministries. Take an active role in all Church-wide activities.
• - Prayerfully personalizing and executing weekly worship plans using Planning Center, Multitracks, and other tools.
• - Give oversight to all technology used in Spanish Worship Gatherings (sound, ProPresenter, recording (audio/video), broadcasting, lighting, Planning Center)
• - Help in any special musical events by internal or external artists/groups and outreach opportunities for the surrounding community to reach people
• - Write, record, and publish original worship content for use by FBC and/or surrounding ministries or markets when possible
• - Contribute to church-wide events, campus events, and Faith Worship projects
• - Actively and proactively participate in weekly staff meetings and a weekly meeting with Spanish Ministries Pastor.

Important Skills / Personal Traits Required:

• - Strong people skills: the ability to lead, communicate, call to action, carry vision, systems building, and delegate with discernment and kindness is a necessity
• - The Worship Director will agree with the doctrines found in Scripture and supported by the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 of the Southern Baptist Convention.
• - Must possess written and verbal proficiency in Spanish (Fluent).
• - Proactivity and diligent attitude is a must
• - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of music theory and practice (preferably plays the guitar or keyboards; ability to sing and lead the congregation in congregational singing is indispensable) • Knowledge of Scripture and worship theology.
• - Seminary education is preferred but an exceptional experience record will be considered
• - Having good relationships with those both in and outside the church
• - Detail oriented: must see even the smallest issues as important and visualize how all details and teams work together
• - Ability to recruit, equip, train, inspire, and motivate teams of volunteers
• - Professional, approachable, kind and teachable
• - Skills in mentoring and developing both large and small teams
• - Humility, and the ability to be flexible must be a culture that prevails
• - Goal setting and providing accountability to the goals
• - Ability to incorporate other art forms as needed as forms of worship
• - Commitment to holiness
• - A member of Faith or willing/able to become a member
