Job Overview: The Shelter Manager is a vital role in the success of the City Rescue Mission and the day-to-day operations of the shelters. This role oversees an assigned facility under the shelter umbrella of the City Rescue Mission. The Manager oversees day to day processes and things concerning the guests of the assigned facility. They are responsible for working with their director to ensure all processes, procedures, and efforts of the shelters are equitable and uniform and in line with the mission of Food, Shelter, and Hope. Ensuring guest tracking methods are being utilized properly, data and stats are accurate, all staff are treating guests appropriately and resolving guest concerns as necessary. The Manager must be able to multi-task effectively, work in an organized and efficient manner, balance communications with many different personality types, and problem solve frequently to ensure efficacy across all Shelter matters.
We are hiring for an Adult Shelter Manager and a Women and Children Shelter Manager (2 separate positions)
Expected Schedule- Regularly 1st and 2nd, occasionally 3rd shift -Full Time, Exempt- Exact schedule varies by need and staffing. When shelters are fully staffed this role will include one to two 1st shift office days and three to four days working alongside staff, 1st or 2nd shift (5 days total). When there are schedule openings, the Manager will be expected to work with the Director to fill shifts as necessary across the shelter facilities. Weekends, Evenings, and Holidays (Rotation).
Responsibilities:
· Be hands on in the training of all new shelter staff
· Train new staff on guest tracking software
· Work alongside the caseworker to handle guest discipline and daily life
· Work with the Shelter Director to ensure all processes and procedures that take place within the shelter are effective and consistent.
· Complete Quarterly Check-Ups for Coordinators, Guest Interns, and Janitorial Staff
· Ensure staff are fulfilling their expectations, report issues that need escalated to the Director
· Responsible for maintaining a smoothly run shelter, in accordance with Food, Shelter, and Hope
· Maintain and encourage effective communication and collaboration, using all tools available
· Attend all meetings and training sessions as scheduled
· Show the love of Christ, be ready to share the gospel, teach in chapel, and pray with guests
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma- Required
· Proficient use of the Microsoft Suite- Required
· 1+ Years Management/Supervisory Experience- Preferred
· 1+ Year Shelter/Non-Profit Experience- Preferred
Skills
· Ability to learn and teach a new computer program within 30 days of introduction
· Ability to proficiently use a phone system that spans multiple facilities- including answering, transferring, putting calls on hold, etc. Within 15 days of introduction.
· Ability to navigate, build, teach, and complete data entry in excel spreadsheets
· Ability to respectfully interact with guests, volunteers, and staff no matter their background, temperament, preferences, or life choices
· Detail oriented, organized, thorough, and possessing the ability to multitask well
· Ability to constantly assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of all work assignments
· Ability to de-escalate situations while staying calm under pressure

· Commit to continual training under those called to teach the doctrines of the faith and the Word of God, as well as to seek out fellowship with other believers (Hebrews 10:24-25), as evidenced by being a member in good standing in a local evangelical church.
Environment
The Shelter Manager will need to be able to work in a noisy and distraction-filled environment as needed. The Manager’s task will occasionally require them to work in low temperatures, high temperatures, outdoor elements (e.g. rain, wind, snow), and small/enclosed spaces.
Physical Requirements-
The below listed abilities are required to be able to complete the essential duties of the role:
The Shelter Manager will need to be able to constantly navigate stairs- quickly and proficiently navigating up to 3 flights of stairs whenever needed. They will constantly need to be able to lift 25lbs in all directions and will occasionally need to lift up to 50+lbs in all directions. They will need to be able to complete 1+ hours of physically taxing work without a break and stand or walk for 3 hours without sitting down. They will occasionally need to complete 2-3 hours of physically taxing work without a break and be able to move with haste for 500ft.
The Shelter Manager will need to be able to constantly complete visual scans of indoor/outdoor areas in varying levels of light. They will need to constantly complete tasks with repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. They will need to be able to constantly communicate clearly with others to exchange information.
