Senior Pastor

The Senior Pastor is the spiritual leader of the church and is responsible to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the biblical revelation and to engage in pastoral care. He strives to glorify God by providing ministerial oversight through shepherding the flock in spiritual and relational growth by modelling what it looks like to love God and love people. He works in harmony with the leadership team, understanding the beliefs, mission, values, and strategy of CBC. Reports to the Elder Board.

Key Responsibilities (as part- time)

·      Devote time to studying the Word and prayer

·      Preach on Sundays presenting well-organized, Bible-based sermons, through the expository preaching of His Word.

·      Be available to the leadership and congregants by phone or in-person during the week during at designated periods of time (e.g., 4pm to 7pm Mon-Thurs).  

·      Assent to our Constitution and tenets of faith.

Other Responsibilities (as time permits)

·      Cooperate with church leadership to accomplish the church’s purpose in both discipleship and outreach.

·      Serve as a resource person and advisor to the leaders of various church ministries and committees.

·      Assist Elder Board in selecting, enlisting, and training qualified persons for church leadership.

·      Lead in the observance of ordinances; lead congregants through reconciliation or church discipline when necessary.

·      Provide biblical counsel to congregants with the assistance of church leaders.

Spiritual and Character Development

·      Demonstrate a stable, mature Christian Walk, reflecting the requirements of a Pastor (1 Timothy 3:1-7; 2 Timothy 2; Titus 1:5-9).   

·      Exhibit the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)

Qualifications & Experience

·      Experience in preparing and preaching expository sermons

·      Ministry-related undergraduate, graduate, or other related training is desirable

Employment Type: 

·      Bi-Vocational / Part-Time (about 20 hours per week)

·      Salaried position

·      Opportunity to grow into full-time status

Crossroads Bible Church is a non-denominational church located in Talty, Tx (20 miles east of Dallas).
