Profile
· Discipleship: Understanding an interest in emerging trends and small group* ministry where people study the Bible for life application, pray with and for one another, and thus experience, accountability, belonging, and care
· Care: Triage counseling, premarital counseling, referral acumen, and hospital visitation
· Mid–career: Five to ten years of experience in a similar ministry position
· Leadership: Organizing, training, and resourcing small group leaders
· Communicator: Public speaking, writing, and on-camera
· Relational: An outgoing people-person who cares deeply for the well-being of others
· Team Player: Responsible for Snyder’s Eleven Core Beliefs, stated purpose, and other duties that the church or team may require
· Ministerial duties: Officiant of weddings and funerals
General Responsibilities:
Small Group Discipleship
· Recruit and train new small group leaders.**
· Develop and maintain a support system for small group leaders. Shepherd the shepherds.
· Establish a training routine for small group leaders that includes how to:
· Study the Bible for life application
· Create a place of belonging
· Facilitate care among group members
· Start a new group from an existing group
· Collaborate with the Director of Children’s Ministry, the Director of the Snyder Learning Center, and the Student Minister in developing and implementing a discipleship strategy from birth to high school graduation that is congruent with the church’s purpose. Lead and support these three team members and their efforts to make disciples of Jesus.
· Collaborate with the Connections Director to provide a “clear pathway” to small group discipleship experiences, as well as to service opportunities in the church.
· Consistently meet with the church’s Senior Pastor, making him aware of small group growth and how he can support the growth.
Care
· Facilitate small groups in caring for those experiencing care needs such as hospitalization, death of a family member, job loss, etc.
· Make contact with those connected to our church who are experiencing sickness (hospital visitation), grief, or personal crisis.
· Aid grieving families in planning funerals and memorials.
· Ready to preach and teach the Bible as the authoritative word of God.
*Small Groups include but are not limited to Sunday School, topical studies, need-based, or season of life-based. While most of Snyder’s groups meet during the Sunday School hour on campus, small groups also meet on other days of the week, both on and off campus.
**The Nominating Committee will aid in recruiting leaders.
