Job Description

The Director of Youth Ministry at Peters Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church (PCEPC) is directly responsible for leading the youth ministry (Sixth through Twelve grade) and the staff and volunteers who support this ministry. PCEPC’s youth ministry is aligned with the PCEPC and Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) beliefs, vision and mission to foster an environment where the youth feel safe and welcome as they develop their personal relationship with God and His son Jesus Christ. Peters Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church | Who We Are and What We (peterscreekchurch.org)

We are looking for a part-time Youth Director with up to 30 hours per week. For the right candidate we can make it a full time position with benefits.

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        To develop a vision for the Youth Ministry program that aligns itself with the greater vision and confessional standards of the PCEPC and EPC.

·        To develop a strategic plan for accomplishing that vision and submit it to the designated individuals and committees for approval.

·        To gather and manage resources needed to accomplish approved vision, including:

o  Coordinate, develop and implement Bible-based curriculum for youth ministry to include: Youth Sunday school, Youth Group, Outreach, etc.

o  Prepare lessons/messages as well as teach classes and lead applicable events

o  Recruit & supervise appropriate staff/volunteers to lead classes and events to include coordinating training sessions, youth group, outreach/service projects, mission events, etc.

o  Organizing outreach and fellowship activities

o  Planning and leading periodic youth retreats, mission opportunities, and special events

o  Providing our youth with tools for personal spiritual growth

o  Develop and implement a plan for whole-family discipleship; to equip families and empower parents to disciple their children

o  Planning/coordinating Confirmation Class as needed

o  Liaison with designated individuals and committees, such as the Director of Children’s Ministry, Next GEN Team, Session, Senior Minister to attain support, guidance, and authority to complete the responsibilities mentioned above.

o  Ensure all applicable staff and volunteers who regularly are involved with leadership/ministry to the youth have the necessary state and federal clearances Keep Kids Safe (pa.gov)

o  Creating and managing an annual budget.

·        Establish and maintain a visible presence with members of the church congregation and leadership, including regular participation at Sunday worship services, church activities, committee meetings, staff meetings, session meetings, and other required events.


Personal Qualifications:

·        Vibrant and growing personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ

·        Collaborative, servant leader with a passion for growing God’s Kingdom through PCEPC Youth Ministry

·        Outgoing, organized, energetic and creative

·        Subscribed to and aligned with the vision, beliefs and mission of PCEPC and EPC Peters Creek Evangelical Presbyterian Church | Who We Are and What We (peterscreekchurch.org)

·        Have or able to obtain the necessary state and federal clearances Keep Kids Safe (pa.gov)

·        Excellent verbal, written and computer related skills

·        CPR/First Aid trained or willing to obtain training/certification

·        Valid driver’s license

 

Experience:

·        Bachelor of Arts or Associate degree in a related field preferred

·        Relevant experience (e.g., children, youth and family ministry programs)

Accountability & Evaluation:

·        Reports to the Senior Minister. Annual Review


Compensation:

·        Compensation is commensurate with experience.

·        Depending on the candidate, this is either a part time position working up to 30 hours per week or a full time salaried position with benefits.
