PART-TIME YOUTH MINISTRY LEADER
First Baptist Church of Gordon, TX
POSITION OVERVIEW
First Baptist Church of Gordon is seeking a spiritually mature, proactive, and biblically grounded individual to serve as Part-Time Youth Ministry Leader. This role exists to disciple and shepherd the youth of our church, helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, develop a biblical worldview, and actively participate in the life and mission of the church. Applicants must hold accredited Bible college or seminary training, or be actively pursuing formal biblical education while serving.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Spiritual Leadership & Teaching: Teach the Word of God faithfully in weekly youth gatherings and Bible studies; develop biblically sound lesson plans; disciple students through mentorship; encourage youth involvement in evangelism, missions, and service.
Ministry Planning & Organization: Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings (Wednesdays and Sunday mornings); organize off-campus activities (camps, retreats, mission trips, conferences); continue the Ignite Program — a monthly youth gathering at a church member's home; develop an annual ministry calendar; recruit and maintain volunteers.
Relational & Pastoral Care: Build Christ-centered relationships with youth and families; maintain healthy communication with parents; provide ministerial care within established boundaries.
Administrative Duties: Work within an approved budget; maintain event records, permission forms, and safety documentation; provide regular updates to the Lead Pastor and church leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS
CHARACTER & CONDUCT The Youth Ministry Leader must meet biblical character qualifications (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1), model Christian maturity (1 Timothy 4:12), maintain a consistent devotional life, live with moral integrity, demonstrate humility and unity with leadership, uphold strict ethical and safety standards, and be faithful in church attendance and corporate worship.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Serves under the direct supervision of the Lead Pastor and Personnel Committee. Includes quarterly ministry reviews, annual evaluation of measurable goals, and ongoing assessment of spiritual health and ministry effectiveness.
COMPENSATION
Salary: $11,248 – $14,920/year
