Next Gen Director

Position Summary

The Next Gen Director is a ministry position that  provides vision, leadership, and pastoral oversight for ministries serving the next generation at Strong Tower Church, including Middle School, High School, and Young Adults. This role is responsible for developing a unified discipleship pathway that helps students and young adults grow into fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

The Next Gen Director will recruit, train, and lead volunteer teams while equipping parents and leaders to partner in discipling the next generation. This position reports to the Lead Pastor and works closely with church leadership to ensure alignment with the overall mission and vision of Strong Tower Church.

Key Responsibilities

Vision & Leadership

- Provide clear vision, strategy, and leadership for all Next Generation ministries (Middle School, High School, and Young Adults).

- Serve as a visible and engaged leader on campus, actively executing the vision of the church and youth ministry.

- Demonstrate strong teamwork and excellent communication skills.

- Ensure alignment of Next Generation ministries with the mission, values, and culture of Strong Tower Church.

- Identify opportunities to integrate students and young adults into all aspects of church life.

- Model an active and engaged church lifestyle, including inviting others, volunteering, generosity, and prioritizing community.

- Develop and implement a discipleship pathway that encourages spiritual growth and leadership development.

- Oversee ministry environments that are engaging, biblically sound, safe, and relationally strong.

Ministry Oversight

Middle School Ministry

- Develop weekly programming and discipleship environments for middle school students.

- Recruit and equip leaders to build meaningful relationships with students.

- Partner with parents to support spiritual development at home.

High School Ministry

- Provide vision and leadership for high school discipleship and spiritual formation.

- Create opportunities for growth through small groups, serving, and leadership development.

- Oversee retreats, camps, and special events that deepen students’ faith.

Young Adult Ministry

- Lead and grow a ministry environment for young adults (ages 18–25).

- Develop opportunities for community, discipleship, leadership, and service.

- Integrate young adults into the broader life and leadership of the church.

Leadership Development

- Recruit, train, and shepherd volunteer leaders.

- Develop a strong leadership pipeline for Next Generation ministry.

- Equip leaders with tools for effective discipleship and relational ministry.

Pastoral Care

- Provide pastoral guidance and spiritual support to students, young adults, and their families.

- Assist with counseling, mentoring, and discipleship relationships as needed.

- Help students and young adults transition into deeper engagement within church life.

Ministry Operations

- Develop and manage the Next Generation ministry budget.

- Ensure all safety policies, background checks, and ministry procedures are followed.

- Coordinate ministry calendars, events, and communication.

Qualifications

Spiritual Qualifications

- A growing and vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

- A clear calling to Next Generation ministry.

- Commitment to the mission, doctrine, and culture of Strong Tower Church.

Experience

- Prior experience leading student ministry, young adult ministry, or Next Generation ministry.

- Demonstrated ability to build and lead volunteer teams.

- Proven track record of growth.

- Strong relational and communication skills.

Work Expectations

- Full-time pastoral staff position.

- Participation in weekend services is required.

- Regular evening ministry programming, along with occasional retreats and events.

- Active involvement in the life of Strong Tower Church.

The Next Gen Director plays a critical role in helping Strong Tower Church raise up the next generation of Christ-centered leaders by creating environments where students and young adults can encounter God, build authentic relationships, and grow in their faith.
