Job Description

PURPOSE                    

 

The Digital Ministry Director guides and manages the overall digital strategy and presence of First Baptist Church in seeking to accomplish the mission and realize the vision. This role assists with the development of consistent and quality digital content while managing and maintaining all social media platforms as well as the website of First Baptist Church. The Digital Ministry Director develops and oversees the strategy and execution of web and social media practices, collects and analyzes statistical data, plans the church’s digital marketing strategy and campaigns, remains informed on the most up to date technology practices, and makes changes as needed to maximize website rankings and increase the church’s digital visibility. The purpose of the Digital Ministry Director is to glorify God and help people know, love, and become like Jesus through the use of online digital technology, while seeing “likes” and “clicks” become new members of the First Baptist family.

  • Proficient computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft office applications
  • Basic knowledge of web design and graphic design
  • Basic knowledge of photography and videography, along with editing software

  • Team mentality and willingness to collaborate with other staff members
  • Self-motivated to accomplish tasks
  • Effective communication skills


RESPONSIBILITIES                          Hours needed per week:_15-20

  • Seek to create avenues of movement for people to transition from online to in-person attendance
  • Coordinate digital branding for digital ministry throughout First Baptist Ministries
  •  Attend a portion of Weekly Staff meeting (in person or virtually) [1-2 hours/week]
  • Manage Social Media Platforms (Facebook, YouTube)  [ 2-3 Hours/week]
  • Manage Website updates and changes, keeping it up to date and “fresh” [2-3 hours/week]
  • Manage FBC App [ 1-2 hour/week ]
  • Produce Video Content for Discipleship/Evangelism series [2-3 Hours/week]
  • Design/produce engaging graphics and content for Social Media/website [2-3 hours/week]
  • Streamline/manage communication strategy from FBC to Congregation through digital avenues [1 hour/week]
  • In charge of hosting or recruiting & training hosts for Online Sunday Services [3 hours/week]
  • Manage live stream distribution software and prep service for posting to digital platforms [1 hours/week]
  • Continue growing in knowledge of common church strategies and platforms for effective digital ministry. Make changes to our current platforms/strategies as needed [1-2 hours/week]
  • Maintain and manage “Digital Ministry Budget” [1 hour/week]
  • Collects and analyzes statistical Data to measure effectiveness of digital ministry
