Job Description

Introduction

Are you passionate about building something that matters?

Do you believe students aren’t just the future of the Church—but a vital part of what God is doing right now?

At Crossroads Fellowship, we’re looking for a Student Pastor who is energized by discipleship, leadership development, and building a thriving ministry from the ground up—within a healthy, aligned framework.

If you love developing leaders, creating engaging environments, and helping students take real steps toward Jesus, keep reading—you might be the right fit for this role.

Our Church

Crossroads Fellowship exists “to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus who want to transform the Triangle and the world.”

We are a growing, non-denominational church with a deep commitment to:

  • Gospel-centered teaching
  • Spirit-led ministry
  • Leadership development
  • Local and global impact

You can learn more at crossroads.org.

Our Culture

At Crossroads, how we lead matters just as much as what we lead.

  • Servant Leadership – We lead with humility and a “We, Not Me” mindset
  • Integrity – We do the right thing and build trust through honesty
  • Collaboration – We believe we are better together
  • Passion – We are all in for what God is doing

If this sounds like the kind of team you want to be part of, you’ll feel at home here.

The Role & Opportunity

The Student Pastor at our Millbrook Campus will lead and build a dynamic student ministry for 5th–12th grade (Mix 5/6, Middle School, and High School).

This is a builder role—but not from scratch.

You’ll step into a ministry with:

  • Existing structure and support
  • Church-wide alignment and vision
  • A framework designed to help you succeed

And you’ll be responsible to build within that framework—developing leaders, strengthening systems, and creating environments where students grow in their faith.

You’ll report to the Millbrook Campus Pastor while collaborating closely with the Wake Forest Youth Pastor and the NextGen Pastor to align with churchwide student ministry goals and events.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Build the Ministry

  • Oversee all student environments (5th–12th grade)
  • Strengthen and grow weekly gatherings and midweek environments
  • Create engaging, organized, and spiritually impactful experiences

Develop Leaders

  • Recruit, train, and care for adult and student leaders
  • Build a leadership culture that multiplies beyond you
  • Empower others to take ownership of key areas
  • Help students take clear next steps in their faith

Invest Relationally

  • Build strong relationships with students and parents
  • Be present in the lives of students (schools, games, events)
  • Partner with parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their students

Execute with Excellence

  • Plan and lead weekly services, small groups, and events
  • Ensure environments are well-organized, engaging, and aligned
  • Follow through on details and deliver consistently strong experiences

Collaborate & Align

  • Work closely with the Campus Pastor and Next Gen team
  • Align with church-wide strategy, events, and vision
  • Contribute to staff culture, meetings, and overall mission

What We’re Looking For

A Builder Within a Framework

  • You don’t need to create everything from scratch—but you know how to build, refine, and grow what’s in front of you
  • You bring vision, but you also value alignment and collaboration

A Leader of Leaders

  • You don’t just do ministry—you develop people who do ministry
  • You naturally think in terms of multiplication

Relational & Driven

  • You genuinely love students and families
  • You’re proactive, organized, and follow through

Spiritually Grounded

  • You model a growing relationship with Jesus
  • You teach and lead with biblical conviction and clarity

We also expect that you will:

  • Model a sincere love for Jesus and a desire to submit to Him in all things.
  • Work in a full-time role (Sunday–Thursday rhythm).
  • Participate in staff meetings, Next Gen collaboration, and church-wide events.
  • Commit to personal, spiritual, and leadership growth.
  • Have a willingness to be present where students are.
  • Participate in churchwide events and support the broader mission of Crossroads Fellowship.

Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you need to have:

  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students
  • Proven ability to build and lead teams
  • Strong relational, communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion for student ministry and discipleship

Desired Qualifications

While not required, it would be a bonus if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a ministry-related field.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a healthy student ministry.
  • 3+ years of experience in professional Christian ministry.

Why This Role Matters

This role is about more than programming. It’s about helping students:

  • Know Jesus
  • Own their faith
  • Live on mission

And building a ministry that will shape lives for years to come.

Let’s Talk If your heart feels energized after reading this, we’d love to hear from you!

About the Crossroads Fellowship Church

Crossroads Fellowship began in August 1987 when our Founding Pastor sensed the Lord's calling to start a new church—one thoroughly Biblical but clearly contemporary in style and dedicated to reaching those who do not normally attend church.

Our first service was held in June 1988 at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh. Two years later, we moved to a larger, rented space at Sanderson High School.

God blessed Crossroads with exponential growth and provided us a home of our own with the purchase of the Black and Decker Warehouse Building, where our Millbrook Campus still resides today.

Our first worship service there was held in a cavernous, empty room in December 1996—and over the years, God provided the resources to build out ministry space in phases. Now, we are blessed to be able to give back to our church family through the very space shaped by their generosity.

Along the way, Crossroads has been led by several inspiring and beloved Senior Pastors. Our Senior Pastor Andy George has been serving joyfully in this role since 2016.
