Job Title:
Full time Youth Pastor (A spiritual leader and shepherd for the Youth Ministry)
Job Description:
NJFCBC is looking for an experienced individual to fill the position of full-time youth pastor. Successful candidate works under the supervision of the Senior Pastor and works along with the pastoral staff and deacon body to oversee, lead and build up all aspects of the Youth Ministry, and lead a team of coworkers to fulfill our mission statement.
Responsibilities:
-Create a long-term plan for Youth Ministry working together with Senior Pastor and other Youth Ministry coworkers.
-Lead and organize youth programs implementing worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, and outreach.
-Teach Sunday school (youths)
-Lead Bible study and prayer meeting with youths
-Involve youths with other church ministries, seek to integrate Youth Ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that is intentionally intergenerational, striving to unite with and complement other church ministries.
-Maintain clear, regular communication with parents/guardians on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.
-Equip and oversee coworkers to exercise their different gifts.
-Work with other church leaders.
-Preach at least once a month.
Qualification/Requirement:
-Exhibits a exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and healthy relationships
-Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Master of Divinity preferred)
-Minimum one-year youth ministry experience
-Excellent interpersonal communication skill in English. Multi-cultural experience a plus.
-Able to relate to challenges and needs of young people, exhibiting a love for youth ministry and young people and a passion for evangelism and outreach.
Affiliated with Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), NJFCBCOE is a local church with an active membership that averages around 80-100 in attendance on every Sunday and various small groups throughout the weekdays. NJFCBCOE was founded in May 1991 and located at 592 Old Post Rd, Edison, NJ with increasing diversity in membership (though the majority is ethnic Chinese speaking Cantonese, Mandarin and English currently).
