Job Description
First Baptist Church in Port Wentworth is searching for a bi-vocational pastor to lead us. We are Bible believing Christians located just outside of Savannah, GA. We know that God is preparing someone's heart nad will lead him to our church.
Our church was founded in 1922 and has a rich history in our community. We are searching for God's man to aid us in evangelizing our community as well as serving our congregation.
We are looking for someone to preach messages that are true to Jesus' teaching, willing to get out in the community to share and visit those in need. We believe that the Bible is God's Holy Word and the pastor's teaching and leadership should reflect that. We expect that man to also fully embrace the Southern Baptist Faith and Message and its doctrine. We are a Southern Baptist committee-led church and we desire the leadership of God's man who embraces that, too.
FBCPW has a desire to follow God's leadership, to grow God's Kingdom here in Port Wentworth through baptisms and membership We want to reach our community for Him. Our community is rapidly growing and most are not interested in being a part of a church family. We wish to change that mindset for the glory of the Kingdom.
Port Wentworth is our mission field and it is wide open for harvest. We need someone to aid us in reaching that field.
Additional information:
Preferred licensed and ordained; ministry experience and/or seminar-college education is encouraged but not required.
Preach each Sunday morning and lead the Wednesday evening prayer meeting/Bible study. Secure replacements as needed (the church can/will help with that)
Provide pastoral care where needed-to include hospital/home visits
Assist the church family with community outreach
Lead Church Council and business meetings where needed
Assist/provide leadership to other staff members
