Minister to Students

First Baptist Church of Natchitoches is seeking a passionate, gospel-centered full-time Student Minister to lead and disciple our middle and high school students while partnering with parents to help the next generation follow Christ.

Our church is committed to biblical preaching, intentional discipleship, and reaching our community with the gospel. You'll be joining a healthy, supportive church family with dedicated volunteers, an engaged student ministry, and a staff that enjoys serving together. First Baptist Church is experiencing a season of health, unity, and growth, making this an exciting opportunity for a leader who desires to build on a strong foundation and make a lasting impact in the lives of students and families.

Located in the beautiful, historic city of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and home to Northwestern State University, our community offers a unique opportunity to minister to both local students and college-aged young adults. Our church family has a strong history of shining the light of Jesus in our community and around the world. Proud of our heritage and history while moving forward, our thriving community of believers is focused on the present and the future by reaching our current and future generations with the gospel message of Christ.

Natchitoches (pronounced nack-a-tish) is the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase, dating back to 1714. It is a colonial historic town that brings in hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Our church building facilities are right in the middle of the beautiful downtown historic district that also serves as the hub of the town. Mission opportunities to locals and visitors abound here!

We are also a college town that brings students, faculty, and staff from all over the world. The university is just a few blocks from our church campus where we have a thriving college and young adult ministry. College students are a vital part of our worship, children youth, and discipleship ministries.

As a multi-generational church family, we have a progressive worship style that leans toward contemporary but does not leave hymns behind altogether. A typical worship service here uses a variety of musical instruments, an orchestra, multiple vocalists, and an occasional choir. Currently our worship service attendance averages just below 400 people and we are beyond 80% in our worship center seating and in our educational space capacity. We have been on an upward trend in attendance and ministry involvement for the past few years.

We have a fantastic ministerial and administrative staff that truly love to work and minister with one another. We operate as a team to help and encourage one another in our ministry areas as well as in being Christ-followers. We regularly meet for prayer, ministry planning, and leadership development.

We are asking the Lord to provide a person that will provide leadership as we reach our youngest generations (preschool elementary school age) with the Gospel. Our children's ministry seeks to be intentionally evangelistic in teaching children to be Christ followers through a variety of methods. We also desire for this person connect with young parents and families to help them become assimilated into the church family.
