Peninsula Church is a vibrant multigenerational and multicultural faith community located in Pacific Grove, CA (Monterey Peninsula). Our team is devoted to seeking the Kingdom of God, and seeing His Kingdom come in our region. We are a Spirit-Filled church passionately pursuing the presence of God with excellence. We are prayerfully seeking a Next Gen Pastor.

Job Description: The Next Gen Pastor will provide visionary leadership for children and students ages 0-18. This person will focus on discipleship, pastoral care, family engagement and collaborate with senior leadership to ensure spiritual growth. 

Key Responsibilities

·      Vision & Strategy: Define and execute a unified vision for children and youth, while ensuring alignment with the Peninsula Church’s vision and mission

·      Ministry Development: Oversee age appropriate teaching, environments, curriculum and events. 

·      Leadership & Team Building: Recruit, train, equip and shepherd volunteers for all Next Gen areas.

·      Family Engagement: Come alongside parents to provide resources and support to disciple their children at home. 

·      Budget & Administration: Manage budgets, resources, policies and safety protocols for all Next Gen ministries

·      Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care to children, teens, families and volunteers.

·      Community Presence: Engage with students in their environments, such as school, sporting events and other applicable events.

Requirements

·      A bachelor’s degree or equivalent ministry experience

·      2 years of relatable ministry experience

·      A growing Christian faith and character

·      Ability to pass a background check

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·      Understanding of and willingness to serve within the vision, core values and doctrinal commitments of Peninsula Church

·      A sense of calling toward pastoral ministry

·      A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim 3:1-13, 2 Tim 2, Titus 1:5-9
