Job Description

Who We Are: Hope Church is a growing church located in Wilton, CT. We are denominationally affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America. Our Vision is to be a dynamic community where Christ is transforming lives as we Reach, Teach, and Serve one another in love. We currently have an average attendance of about 250 on Sundays with more new families flooding in each week. We have 3 full-time and 2 part-time staff members. We are just missing you!

Where We Are: CNN has named Wilton one of the Top 25 Towns to Live In. It has a small-town feel with the innovation and creative spirit of a big city and easy access to large cities (50 miles to the heart of Manhattan and 180 miles to Boston, MA). Wilton is a charming respite from big city life but an excellent place to settle and find a fulfilling career, some of the top schools in America, and a quiet and friendly community. As beautiful as Wilton is, it is a dark place spiritually. The New England/Greater New York City culture is very post-Christian and, at times, anti-Christian. There is a tremendous need for the bold proclamation of Jesus, and we are fully expecting God to bring revival to this area.

What We’re Looking For: Hope Church is looking for an energetic, biblically-based, high-capacity leader. This person will lead students into deeper relationships with Jesus and celebrate authentic life change. Oversight is 6th–12th grade with continued relationships beyond graduation.

The Hope Student Ministry is in transition and looks forward to finding stability with its new Student Ministry Director. However, it continues to invest in students and families because of its group of active student ministry volunteers and student-led worship team.

The OPPORTUNITY is tremendous!

There are not many other youth groups in town and very few churches that are Biblically sound. The Hope Church Youth Ministry is the place to go for students who are curious about Christ, and a place parents know is safe.

Hope Youth has a strong foundation and a good reputation in the area and receives lots of support and encouragement from Hope Church.

Responsibilities

  • Envision, lead, and develop the most effective methods and experiences to reach young people within the community.
  • Envision, lead, and develop a growing team of volunteers equipped to minister well.
  • Invest in collaborative and life-giving relationships with staff and volunteers.
  • Teach biblical messages.
  • Plan, organize, and lead youth retreats and mission trips.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the youth ministry and manage the youth budget.

Values

  • Growing Christ-follower: This person should be hungry in their pursuit of Christ and growing in their relationship with Him. This should be evidenced in their pursuit of holiness, humility, and pursuing the mission of putting the gospel in motion.
  • Contagious disciple-making: Relationships matter and should be leveraged for a deeper walk with Jesus.
  • Team builder: Excited to see others built up and mobilized. “Team” matters and multiplication is our goal.
  • Enthusiastic: Genuinely excited about God’s heart for people and it shows.
  • Sees the big picture: Draw students and families into the larger mission of Hope Church.

Qualifications

  • Effective communicator with an emphasis on transformation.
  • Naturally relates to young people and is familiar with what they are experiencing.
  • Aware of current trends and curious about the best methods and means to reach students and young people.
  • Undergraduate degree required and student ministry experience preferred.

The Student Ministry Director position includes a beautiful 3-bedroom parsonage that not only has a new kitchen and bathrooms but an inground pool.
