Church Plant Resident

The Foundation Church church planting residency is a 9–12 month bi-vocational ministry residency designed to prepare future church planters, replanters, and pastors for faithful ministry leadership.

The residency combines:

1. Biblical and theological study
2. Practical ministry experience
3. Supervised ministry
4. Direct pastoral coaching

Our primary goal is to identify and develop men who may be called to plant or replant churches in Alaska and beyond.

For residents pursuing church planting, our desire is to prepare them for the Send Network assessment and endorsement process when appropriate.

However, Send Network endorsement is not the only definition of success.

If a resident faithfully completes the program and is called to serve as a pastor in an existing church, Foundation Church will also consider that a successful residency outcome.

Success is not simply planting a church. Success is developing and sending a healthy pastor.

WHY A RESIDENCY?

Church planting cannot be learned only in a classroom.

Future pastors need theology, character, ministry experience, missionary instincts, leadership opportunities, and trusted pastors who will walk with them through the process.

The residency is designed to help residents:

• Prepare for planting, replanting, or pastoral ministry

PROFILE OF A RESIDENT

A Foundation Church Resident is someone who senses a possible call toward pastoral ministry, church planting, or church replanting and is willing to enter the residency as:

Foundation Church was planted and launched in 2023, right in the heart of Soldotna, Alaska. Our desire is to see lives built on Jesus Christ, our only firm foundation, and to live out the Gospel by loving and serving our neighbors. At FC we live out our motto "Unshakeable Faith, Unstoppable Mission". 

We are a Southern Baptist Church, affiliated with the Alaska Baptist Resource Network and we are proud to be a Send Network church plant. As an autonomous church, our elders established our church constitution and bylaws, and we also affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
