Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
THE CHURCH
First Baptist Church of Blackshear, Georgia, has experienced remarkable growth in recent years, with its congregation expanding by over 200% . Under the leadership of Dr. Justin Gambrell, the church has become a central hub for spiritual development and community engagement in Pierce County.
The church offers a variety of programs catering to all age groups, including children's ministries, student activities, and adult discipleship groups. Weekly services and midweek gatherings provide opportunities for worship and fellowship, fostering a strong sense of community among members.
In August of 2025, we broke ground on an $8,000,000 building project which includes: New Children's Worship Center, indoor playground, new welcome center, Bible Study rooms and more. We are excited about the future of FBC, and this new building will help us continue to accomplish the mission and vision of the church while giving more room to continue reaching our community.
Our Students meet in what's called the MAC Building. This building houses a basketball gym, café, and student worship center.
THE TOWN
Blackshear, Georgia is a growing small town in Pierce County where community and family life thrive. It’s a place where Friday night football games bring the town together, kids play ball at the local rec department, and neighbors know each other by name. Home values are affordable, with plenty of space to grow, making it a popular choice for families looking for a slower pace of life without giving up opportunities for growth. The schools are strong, the sports teams are active, and the town offers plenty of green space for outdoor living. Whether it’s gathering at church, supporting local businesses, or watching the next generation take the field, Blackshear offers a snapshot of Southern small-town life—rooted in tradition, but growing for the future.
