Position Summary

Serve as Whitewater's Integrator by translating vision into aligned priorities, healthy teams, reliable systems, accountable leadership, and measurable execution.

2. Where are teams competing, duplicating work, operating in silos, or dropping important handoffs?

3. What decision, accountability conversation, or organizational obstacle must be resolved without returning it to the Senior Minister?

Essential Responsibilities

Organizational Integration

• Translate vision and strategic direction into annual, quarterly, and departmental priorities.

• Lead the Directors as the primary means of guiding the organization; directly supervise the Children's Minister and Youth & Young Adults Minister until a Next Generation Director is added.

• Coordinate cross-team decisions, handoffs, calendars, resources, and major initiatives.

• Maintain organizational scorecards and ensure priorities are reviewed consistently.

Staff Leadership and Culture

• Take responsibility for the professional and spiritual development of Directors through regular coaching, growth goals, feedback, evaluation, encouragement, and accountability.

• Set clear expectations, coach leaders, conduct evaluations, and address performance or culture issues.

• Lead staff hiring processes in partnership with HR. Elder policy requires Senior Minister to retain final approval for all hires.

• Build a healthy, spiritually focused, accountable staff culture.

• Resolve conflict directly and ensure difficult issues are not allowed to drift.

Execution and Governance

• Serve as the chief administrative and operational leader, ensuring strategic plans are implemented and progress is clearly and consistently communicated to the Senior Minister.

• Own gathering, preparation, and management of Elder Governance metrics, organizational scorecards, and supporting Limitations compliance data. Provide accurate and timely information to the Senior Minister who retains formal reporting and compliance accountability to the Elder Team.

• Coordinate organizational budgeting and staffing with the Director of Operations & Stewardship.

• Ensure policies, systems, and ministry structures support the mission and remain aligned with Elder-established doctrinal positions and Sr. Minister’s language and teaching.

Key Partnerships and Boundaries

• The Executive Minister oversees operations through the Director of Operations & Stewardship rather than directly managing every operational specialist.

• The Senior Minister owns vision, doctrine, primary teaching, and high-level external influence.

• Directors own the strategy and execution within their areas.

• Directors understand their authority, outcomes, and accountability, and are growing as leaders and disciples.

• The Senior Minister is increasingly freed to lead as Visionary.

Qualifications and Characteristics

• Mature faith, sound judgment, and strong alignment with Whitewater.

• Demonstrated heart and history of personally making disciples and developing leaders who make disciples.

• Proven experience leading leaders and integrating complex organizations.

• Ability to hold people accountable while building trust and health.

• Strong strategic, financial, communication, and problem-solving capability.

• Teaching and preaching experience is a plus, with the opportunity to preach occasionally.

Our Story

Whitewater Crossing Christian Church has been privileged to serve people and communities in Greater Cincinnati and beyond for more than 100 years. The church is affiliated with the Restoration Movement, building their first small facility at the corner of Glenmore and Meadow Aves in Cheviot.

In 2002 the Elders resolved to reposition the church for growth by moving to a new facility on a 74-acre site further west in Cleves/Whitewater Township. The congregation also adopted a new name to reflect its strategic location at the crossroads of several major highways, and its desire to become a gathering point for people of all backgrounds: “Whitewater Crossing.” with a much broader regional audience.

Over the last 2 years, the church under the leadership of our Sr Minister Josh Brown, has seen growth and health in our culture that has always been driven for outreach to our community and creating a space for an emphasis on disciple-making amongst our body. Whitewater Crossing is looking for their next Youth and Young Adult Minister.
