This position contributes to the mission of Oak Hills Church (OHC) to be disciples who make disciples by guiding all people to follow Jesus moment by moment. The staff member contributes to the execution of our discipleship commitment of biblical community through the development of healthy small groups, coaches and leaders. This position must model a high level of spiritual maturity and passion to reach and disciple people.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads, recruits and trains group leaders and coaches through one-on-one meetings, huddles, trainings, orientations, and phone conversations.
- Instructs and ensures all new volunteers complete onboarding process, including volunteer application, screening, interviewing, and training.
- Completes database connection assignments to onboard and support new and existing small group leaders.
- Maintains a strong relationship with assigned group leaders and coaches through regular meetings and correspondence.
- Visits small group studies, outreach events, training, and appreciation events.
- Supports and participates in OHC assimilation process during Weekend Services, Connections Central, Membership Classes, Baptism, Care, etc.
- Assist with developing training, curriculum, and syllabus materials utilized in Small Group gatherings and events.
- Attends and participates in departmental and staff meetings as required.
- Assists with weekend services and pastoral ministry duties such as teaching, weddings, funerals, baptisms, hospital visits, counseling and prayer as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
- Three (3) years of experience recruiting, training, and leading volunteer teams. Pastoral experience preferred.
- Experience can substitute for education.
- Valid Texas 'C' Driver's License (incumbents with out-of-state license must attain Texas license within six (6) months of employment).
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of biblical theology and church ministry philosophies.
- Knowledge and experience in relational intelligence, grace and cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Knowledge of principles of organizational and administrative practices.
- Knowledge of computer office applications and equipment.
- Knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to recruit and implement group leaders.
- Ability to equip and lead teams.
- Ability to occasionally work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to discern and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written means.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, members, and ministry volunteers.
- Ability to perform all the physical, intellectual, and analytical requirements of the position including decision making.
