Responsibilities
The Pastor of Discipleship will be responsible for implementing Three Village Church’s (3VC) vision with respect to making disciples, in alignment with our Discipleship Philosophy of Ministry. As such, he will develop a cradle-to-grave strategy for discipleship, to include the following areas. (Each may have direct coordinators, paid or voluntary.)
The Pastor of Discipleship will have oversight of the coordinators and working groups involved in carrying out these ministries and will be responsible for training and equipping the people who are executing the ministry.
The Pastor of Discipleship will assist the Lead Pastor with pastoral care as needed.
The Pastor of Discipleship will have opportunities to preach, on a schedule to be determined in conjunction with the Lead Pastor.

This position will be full-time, will require approximately 40-45 hours per week, and will be compensated with salary and benefits accordingly.

Located on the North Shore of Long Island, New York halfway between Manhattan and Montauk Point, Three Village Church is a community of people who follow Christ. 3VC is a multi-generational congregation with our numbers balanced across the age spectrum. While we have varied experience and education, our congregation includes those in business and public service as well as many professionals from academic, legal, medical and technological fields. Most of us live within 20 minutes of 3VC, but some come from further away.
We believe that our visible love through the unity of the Holy Spirit is the primary witness that convinces others that Jesus is the Son of God. We therefore strive to exhibit that love in word and practice. Our worship is a blend of the traditional and the contemporary, and our Sunday morning dress is as diverse as we are. At 3VC we celebrate our common trust in Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life; knowing that we love and worship with those who may differ with us on secondary doctrines.
3VC is committed to taking the good news of Christ across the earth. We support 23 missionaries and their families who are working from Texas to Papua, including those working in para-church organizations in colleges and universities here in the states. We budget 20% of our annual giving to missions work and sending teams on short-term missions.
