Worship Pastor

The Worship Pastor Search Committee of Oak Street Baptist Church (OSBC) in Graham, TX is seeking the man who will become the next worship pastor for our congregation. The Worship Pastor will:

1. Prepare and lead all worship services, special services, and event-oriented services in which music is needed. 
2. Develop and supervise all church music including praise and worship band and singers, other choirs and music programs as needed. Direct and coordinate the work of lay worship leaders. 
3. Organize and lead rehearsals of the worship ministry team. 
4. Coordinate with the pastor in planning all worship services. 
5. Cooperate with other staff members, ministry team and lay leaders. 
6. Recruit, train, and equip church members to use their talents and abilities in worship. 
7. Supervise and train sound, lighting, and media technicians. 
8. Prepare presentations, audio, video, and other media using applications such as ProPresenter, PowerPoint, and Planning Center to enhance worship services. 
9. Write, edit, and arrange chord charts and music. 
10. Recommends the financial needs of the worship ministry to the Finance Committee and following established procedures, be responsible for the expenditures of the worship budget. 
11. Adhere to Constitution and Bylaws of Oak Street Baptist Church. 
12. Assist in pastoral duties as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the pastor. 
13. A minimum of 3-5 years of successful experience in worship ministry; leadership preferred.
14. A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a music field, is preferred.

OSBC is unequivocally committed to the inerrancy and authority of the inspired Word of God, and therefore, will not yield on Biblical principles nor stray from the Truth of the doctrines of traditional Christian orthodoxy.

Therefore, our next worship pastor will have a clear grasp of Scripture and the ability to discern doctrinally sound songs, demonstrated through a continual cultivated devotion and relationship with God. He must be an effective leader who possesses significant musical skill, including the ability to play an instrument, preferably guitar or piano, with the ability to invite others into his journey of faith with Christ, cultivating their gifts and skills. He should meet the qualifications of an elder as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4. He must also continue to experience the transforming power of the Gospel in his own life and the life of his family, as a man full of faith, courage, hope, and vision to help lead a congregation to reflect the goodness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the glory of God our Father.
