A campus pastor is usually a pastor that is a part of a multi-site church. Each church site cannot run without a leader in charge of the site, and this is where the campus pastor steps in. Usually for a multi-site church the senior pastor oversees every campus and oversees the staff and ministry of the main campus. The campus pastor is there to make sure that the church site is running smoothly.
The role of the campus pastor is very similar to the senior pastor. Their responsibilities include sometimes teaching and preaching at the main campus on any given Sunday, overseeing the ministries of their campus, overseeing the staff of their campus, aiding in the recruiting of volunteers and bringing in a congregation base, and like all other pastor, perform pastoral care duties such as officiating weddings, attending and speaking at funerals, and visitations for those in the congregation who may be sick or otherwise. They also may be called upon to go and oversee another campus if their campus pastor is indisposed.
