The Role of the Student Pastor

The South Central Nebraska area has a population of 35,000 people with many rural High Schools. The Student Pastor will have the primary ministry of reaching, teaching and developing students ages 13-18 years old to maximize their God given potential in their spirit, soul and body.  


The Student Pastor’s Team

  • This position reports to the Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor.
  • This position partners with the Elders and Trustees of Lifehouse leading them in ministry vision and financial needs of the ministry.
  • This position is a “Pastoral” position which Ephesians 4:12 tells us to “equip the church to do the ministry.” It is expected to see this position recruit and develop a ministry team of parents and volunteers within the church to fulfill the vision set forth by Holy Spirit.   
  • This position is Lifehouse’s Student Ministry representative to the community of South Central Nebraska. It is encouraged that this position partners with Schools Leaders, City leaders, and Para Church ministry leaders to influence as many students as possible to have faith in Jesus Christ.   


Goals for the Lifehouse Student Ministry

  • To embrace the overall leadership vision of Lifehouse Church, promoting unity and commitment to the mission of the church. 
  • To influence and develop the God given potential in the students that attend Lifehouse Church.
  • To find creative and relevant ways to reach out to non-church students and integrate them into Lifehouse Church and make a decision to serve Christ.  
  • To grow a volunteer ministry team from Lifehouse Church.


Primary Responsibilities for Lifehouse Student Pastor

  • To facilitate weekly meetings with students teaching them biblical principles on how God desires them to live life to their fullest potential.
  • To be the primary teacher for the weekly student gatherings.
  • To facilitate regular leadership meetings with the purpose of communicating vision and training leaders to minister to the students. 
  • To work with the Senior and Executive Pastor on the strategic and financial needs for the Student Ministry. 
  • To promote unity and commitment to the overall mission of Lifehouse Church.

  • Lifehouse students have a strong desire to attend and invite friends. 
  • Lifehouse students are increasing in their love for Christ (the Word).
  • Lifehouse students learning to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit.
  • Lifehouse student ministry is growing in attendance. 
  • Lifehouse student ministry is growing in baptisms.
  • Lifehouse student ministry is known for serving the community.


Lifehouse Student Pastor Profile

  • Committed to becoming more like Christ.
  • Character rooted in humility with a desire to be a servant to others.
  • A person that desires to be filled and gifted with the Holy Spirit. 
  • A person with the willingness to learn. 
  • An energetic self starter that desires to lead student events.
  • Has the ability and desire to teach with creativity and relevancy.  
  • Has adequate technical and computer skills (Visual / Audio / On-line).  
  • Has a desire to recruit, develop and empower a leadership team. 
  • A person that strives for holistic health (Spirit / Soul / Body). 
  • Preferably a formal degree / certification in Biblical Studies but not required.
  • If married, the spouse is a strong supporter of ministry and Lifehouse Church.


The schedule of a Student Pastor of Lifehouse Church

  • Office hours 3 day per week from 9am to 5pm.
  • Office hours on Wednesday from Noon to 8:30 pm.
  • Office hours on Sunday from 7am to 1pm.
  • There are many church events throughout the year which required assistance.
  • Christian Holidays will be required unless pre-approved by Executive Pastor.
  • ***Pastoral Ministry is a 24/7 job when people need support*** 


The salary of a Student Pastor of Lifehouse Church

  • This is a full-time position but the salary amount depends on experience and the level of skills that would benefit Lifehouse Church.
  • Lifehouse offers a stipend supplement to help cover health benefits.
