Youth Pastor

We are a growing church in the city of Champaign, Illinois -- home of the University of Illinois, Fighting Illini. Our church has a passion for world missions and for reaching out into our community to share the love of Jesus with all we meet. Since we are growing, we see the need to hire a full time youth pastor to minister to and to disciple our teenagers.

The Job description would be:

Lead and direct Youth Department.

Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of church programs.

Provide counseling to youth and help them realize their individual goals.

Administer and plan numerous youth programs like evangelism, camps and Bible study sessions.

Coordinate with parents of youth group members regarding their children’s involvement and participation in the church.

Participate and contribute to staff and church meetings.

Train youth to be future faith-filled leaders and set up programs to facilitate spiritual growth.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes of outreach programs.

We prefer candidates  to have at least a Bachelors degree in Theology or some Bible major. Also...

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills accompanied by a positive attitude with young students in the church

Ability to deal with and relate to young people by earning their respect and trust

Excellent organization and supervision skills

Strong management and leadership skills in educating and preaching religious messages

Evident relationship and faith in God

Availability to work extended hours and during weekends

Ability to work as a team with other church staff

Salary offered is $48,000 a year. Plus $6000 for health insurance and moving expenses.
