Childrens Ministry Director

At LFC we value working directly with and alongside people to accomplish Kingdom goals, as well as encouraging personal contributions to LFC that require God’s help, resources, inspiration and enabling. By maintaining these proprieties, we believe we put ourselves in a position where we can continue to strive for excellence and value each person as we reach lost people for God through Jesus Christ and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Principle Functions

‣Develop a dynamic and comprehensive children’s ministry for all children ages birth to 12 yrs. old (infant -6th grade).

‣Recruit and develop volunteer staff and a leadership team to engage children in learning, knowing, and following Jesus Christ by way of Scripture, worship, serving, and giving.

‣Fully reflect and convey the heart and vision of LFC and its Senior Pastor to the children and parents of our church family and the community

Specific List of Responsibilities

• Develop a systematic growth track for the spiritual life and Christian training of the children of LFC, using age-appropriate benchmarks in the areas of scripture memorization, expression for passionate worship & exposure to serving and outreach. Approve and assign current curriculum.

• Yearly evaluate the effectiveness of current structure, programming, and Team Manual. Suggest and develop plans for making needed changes.

• Provide a safe environment for the children. Maintain current criminal and child abuse clearances for all Children’s Ministry team members. Ensure all emergency safety protocols, policies, and procedures are both in place and understood. Asure that all standards of cleanliness are being adhered to

• Maintain personal and ministry development through research and leadership training.

• Recruit, train, develop, care for and work through coordinators and faithful volunteer teams to accomplish goals and grow the Children’s Ministry.  

• Oversee GBBY & Champs Coordinators, classrooms and Resource room organization.

• Responsible to conduct consistent Team Times with Coordinators, all Children’s Ministry teams, and volunteer staff for evaluation, vision casting, strategic planning, goal setting, and overall project management. Meeting once yearly with the entire team, quarterly meetings with smaller teams as needed.

• Monthly communication to team members concerning themes, policy changes, events, ministry tips and spiritual encouragement.

• Responsible for New Teacher Training and info packet

• Develop and oversee Classroom Coordinators, and Registration Team for Sunday support.

• Develop a streamlined Social Media plan.

• Promote communication and understanding between parents and the Children’s Ministry Team by communicating with them in an effective and consistent manner.

• Encourage and equip parents for active participation in the Christian Discipleship of their children in their homes and at LFC.  

• Responsible for overall scheduling – Maintained by Coordinators and Admin.

• Develop a “WOW environment” in the entire children’s ministry culture and facilities. Consistently review overall presentation and facility appearance.

• Plan and assign coordinators for special events. Oversee all events and provide adequate, responsible, and appropriately trained supervision. (Leggo Hunt GBBY room, Camping with Jesus, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Church Picnic, Moving up plan.

• Plan Life Groups for children and outreaches to the children of our community.   

• Promote a healthy environment for accountability, transparency, and performance.

• Work with Children’s Ministry Coordinators (Gbby, Champs, Child Care, Fundraising, Champs Musical, Gbby Program, Special Needs, Backyard Moms, CM Ushers, Volunteer Prep team)

• Oversee all general LFC ministry requirements including annual budgets, biannual Calendar Form, Fundraising Request Form, Event Forms and Year End Report.  

• Participate in Discipleship and Events Table Meetings for vision, yearly plans for growth and goals setting. 

• Participate in/lead other shared ministry staff responsibilities and/or projects as assigned.
