Kids Pastor

Job Requirements:

We are looking for a committed follower of Jesus with a passion for leading and discipling elementary-age children. The ideal candidate is someone who can be a contributing member of a pastoral team, is teachable, and can take initiative to relate well with kids, parents, and adult ministry team members.

Qualified Applicants:

• Have an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Hold ministerial credentials, seeking ministerial credentials, or will pursue ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God.

• Possess ministry training through a college, university, or other recognized ministry development program.

• Regularly practice spiritual disciplines and seek ways to grow in godly character.

• Develop a strategic plan for kids' ministry.

• Monitor a yearly Kids Ministry Budget.

• Create a Bible teaching calendar for the children that takes into consideration the full counsel of God’s Word and regularly teach with conviction, compassion, and care.

• Organize and plan meetings, events, and weekly services.

• Train adult leadership effectively.

• Offer resources to equip parents in discipling their children.

• Build relationships with families outside of church functions.

• Oversee Evangel’s involvement in all district events, such as summer camp and Kids Convention.

• Oversee the Nursery Coordinator and work with them in resourcing and reaching families with newborns through pre-school age children.

• Promote and participate in missions such as BGMC.

• Have general knowledge of sound/tech.

• Gladly work as part of the pastoral team for the purpose of fulfilling the overall purpose and mission of Evangel.

• Available to preach and teach in adult worship services when asked.

• Participate in all staff meetings and general pastoral duties as needed (weddings, funerals, counseling, etc.).
