Executive Director/Pastor
Opportunity Profile
Church: Bedrock Forest
Location: Forest, Virginia
Reports To: Supervising Elder
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation Range: $45,000–$65,000 (commensurate with experience)
The Opportunity
Bedrock Forest is seeking a spiritually mature, administratively strong, and mission-driven Executive Pastor to help steward and strengthen the operational systems of a thriving and rapidly growing church plant.
Located just minutes from Liberty University, Bedrock Forest is a vibrant congregation composed of approximately 60% families and 40% college students and young adults. Since launching in 2024, the church has experienced meaningful growth and gospel impact in the Forest community.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape and scale the systems, teams, and structures of a young, dynamic church committed to biblical faithfulness and intentional multiplication.
Position Overview
The Executive Pastor provides operational leadership and ministry coordination to ensure the healthy and effective execution of the church’s mission.
Guiding Description:
Under the leadership of the supervising elder, the Executive Pastor will execute week-to-week responsibilities by managing the tasks, teams, systems, and structures necessary to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the church.
This role serves as the primary operational leader of the church, working closely with the elders to translate vision into execution.
Governance & Role Clarification
At Bedrock Forest, pastors serve as elders and are members of the Elder Board. While this role carries the functional title of Executive Pastor, the individual hired will initially serve in the role of Executive Director.
This structure allows time for relational integration into the body, evaluation of calling toward eldership, discernment of biblical qualifications, and affirmation by the existing elder board.
Elder qualification is not automatic nor guaranteed. Should the individual both desire and demonstrate qualification for eldership, and should the elders affirm that calling, a future transition to the Elder Board may be considered.
This approach protects the integrity of our elder-led structure while ensuring clarity, accountability, and healthy discernment.
Role Summary
The Executive Pastor functions as the operational architect of the church. This role focuses heavily on administration, team development, ministry coordination, systems implementation, and faithful execution of elder vision.
While not primarily a preaching role, it is deeply pastoral in nature—requiring relational intelligence, spiritual maturity, and shepherding instincts.
