Music & Ministry Director

MUSIC LEADER (P/T) OR WORSHIP & MINISTRY DIRECTOR (F/T)

A. Music Leader P/T (10-20 hrs p/wk)

• Development and oversight of all music and creative arts for Christ Church Vienna, with special focus on corporate worship (i.e., Sunday Services)
• Planning and leading musical worship (in coordination with the Lead Pastor), including song selection and arrangement, incorporating new music and fostering a culture of worship
• Recruiting, developing and training volunteer musicians and vocalists
• Cultivating personal skill as a musician, vocalist and facilitator of worship music
• Overseeing the Audio Visual equipment for the church, including upkeep, purchases, etc. to ensure quality, as well as recruiting and training volunteers to use and run A/V equipment

B. Additional Roles For Full Time Consideration F/T

The Music Leader position could be flexed to full time if the candidate is called and experienced in areas of ministry, mission or organizational leadership that could augment the CCV staff and enable the church to advance its Vision & Values. Some examples of additional roles that could be added to Music Leader position:

• Women’s Ministry Coordinator: a person with organizational and people skills who has the ability to cast vision and develop a strategic plan for helping women to connect and grow. 
• Community and Culture: a person with a love for facilitating cross-generational community and a vision for building CCV into a more multi-ethnic family reflective of the wider community.
• Young Adults Missionary: a person who loves the unchurched & has a desire to reach Millennials & Gen-Z.

Critical Qualities 

• Humility, integrity, and a desire to learn
• Strong faith in Jesus Christ, a hunger to experience God, and theological compatibility with CCV
• Love of both the church community and those outside of the church

Required Skills

• Gifted vocally and leading music on guitar or piano
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enjoys working with people
• Preference given for Spanish language comfort or fluency

Expectations

• Experience leading music (worship) in a church or ministry
• History of involvement in the community and developing friendships outside of the church
• Compensation commensurate to experience and abilities and in relation to the hours agreed upon
