Requirements: The Student Pastor must be a born again, Holy Spirit led believer who will bring strong biblical teaching, relational leadership, a strategic discipleship plan, and a passion to reach and grow the next generation. This leader should thrive in a team environment and carry a heart for unity, presence, and transformation. ● must be a good Christian role model. General Purpose: The Student Ministries Pastor serves to build young disciples for Christ (grades 6-12) by developing and implementing a comprehensive approach to youth ministry (including worship, fellowship, discipleship, missions, and outreach) while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.
Organizational Relationship and Supervision: The Student Ministries Pastor (SMP) reports to the Senior Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance. The Senior Pastor will provide oversight on all matters and conduct annual evaluations. The SMP will be responsible and subject to the local church polity and doctrine as well as local church policies.
The Primary Task: There will be a comprehensive approach to the development and implementation of the youth ministry. This comprehensive approach is based on the understanding of the primary task of youth ministry to:
-love youth where they are
-encourage youth in developing their relationship to God
-provide them with opportunities for nurture and growth
-challenge them to respond to God’s call to serve in their communities and world
Responsibilities: 1. Help plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry in the areas of worship, fellowship, discipleship, missions, and outreach.
2. Provide guidance, training and vision for youth sponsors/leaders.
3. Mentor youth in developing their leadership skills.
4. Recruit and train volunteers who work with youth in all aspects of youth ministry and ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios.
5. Be a liaison between the church and other community organizations, people, and resources that relate to youth and youth ministries.
6. Ensure a well-planned Christian Education program for youth by coordinating with the Sunday school team.
7. Develop an effective evangelism strategy and provide opportunities for youth outreach.
8. Maintain and foster close fellowship with other staff members and the church and maintaining unity in the church.
9. Develop and maintain effective communications with students, parents, workers, and church using all available resources (email, website, bulletin, newsletter, bulletin board, etc.).
10. Make yourself available to youth in a variety of ways (i.e.lunch at school, attendance at extracurricular activities, visitation, times of crisis, etc.)
11. Challenge students to embrace global ministry through mission’s emphasis, missionary services,
and mission’s trips.
12. Ensure that the Child Protection Policy is observed in all youth ministry settings.
13. Be a team player for overall church ministry strategy and encourage students to plug into ministry opportunities outside of Student ministries.
14. Schedule regular monthly events and ministry opportunities.

Qualifications: 1. Must exhibit a personal and growing relationship with Christ.
2. Must have adequate training/education in ministry.
3. Must have vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a youth ministry.
4. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, conflict management skills, and computer skills.
5. Must posses a proven ability to work effectively with youth, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.
6. Must be creative and insightful.
7.Must have a basic understanding of IT and its functions.
Experience is preferred but we can discuss options. This is a full-time position and pay is dependent upon experience.
