Campus Worship Leader - Lakeville

Job Description

The Lakeville Campus Worship Leader will work closely with the Pastor of Worship Ministries in developing worship services and teams that lead the congregation in meaningful times of worship. This position oversees the execution of service elements and music in weekly services for Lakeville campus. This part-time nonexempt (hourly) role includes approximately 20 hours per week and directly reports to the Lakeville Campus Pastor.


Job Responsibilities

Essential duties:

·       Modeling and leading worship in an invitational and authentic style that draws people to engage in heartfelt worship.

·       Help build a culture of worship in Lakeville Campus that encourages people to be engaged, expectant and informed in their own worship and for the sake of one another.

·       Recruit, audition and lead musicians and singers to serve the Lakeville Campus with gospel humility.

·       Discipling musicians and singers and encouraging them in their faith through fellowship.

·       Leading rehearsals and run-throughs for weekend services.

 

Other duties:

·       Collaborating with Pastor of Worship Ministries at Burnsville campus for cross campus collaboration in music for weekend services.

·       Meet weekly with the Lakeville Technical Arts Manager to evaluate weekend services and technical requirements.

·       Attend weekly all staff huddles

·       Meet weekly with Lakeville Campus Pastor and Staff.

·       Agreement with Berean Baptist Church Statement of Faith

·       Committed to attendance and membership at Berean Baptist Church

·       Philosophical alignment with Berean’s leadership and theology

·       Ability to teach and equip others to be effective in ministry

Professional

·       Passion for musical excellence and a contagious enthusiasm for the creative use of music in the church and knowledge of how it can be used to support ministry

·       Experience in leading modern worship; ability to actively engage worshippers through exhortation and song

·       Have vocal and instrumental gifts

·       Be able to chart/arrange music

·       Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and shepherd volunteers – technical and musical - that are a part of our worship team

·       Creative, team-building, and problem-solving skills are essential

·       A desire to continually grow as a leader


 

Work Conditions

Physical Characteristics

·       Working in an office for periods

·       Involves some lifting, up to 50 pounds, setting up stage and moving instruments

·       Ability to stand and walk for several hours when leading

 

Environment

There will be a mixture of set scheduled job requirements as well as seasonal demands and large-scale productions.


Hours

This position requires evening and weekend working hours to fully support various events and functions. There will be a mixture of set scheduled job requirements as well as seasonal demands and large-scale productions. Hours will vary based on schedules for rehearsals and weekend services and evening large groups classes, special events, retreats, conferences, FaithFamily celebrations, Christmas and Easter.
