As a Child Development House Parent at Collins Family Ministries, you have the unique opportunity to help children from many different backgrounds find a place that they can truly call home. Our children come from across the state of SC. We ensure they have a loving, Christ-centered environment and opportunities to participate in everyday activities such as school, church activities, sports, clubs, music, etc.
Our campus is located close to Lakes Jocassee, Hartwell and Keowee. Seneca is a charming town with a quaint downtown, year-round festivals & activities, and is just minutes from Clemson University.
Collins Family Ministries is seeking an energetic and organized individual or married couple to serve on a Christ-centered, Child Development House Parent team that will have a rotating shift that may include working weekends and overnights. As Jesus did, Child Development House Parents live and walk alongside the children that we serve, always pointing to the Father, teaching prayer, and giving guidance and life lessons that will allow them to be kingdom focused, resourceful, and successful.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities include:
- Meeting the daily needs of all resident children (up to 8 in each home).
- Prioritizing moments to lead discussions related to faith and relationship-building with Christ.
- Transportation for residents to and from church, school, appointments and recreation.
- Provide a loving, Christian living environment in a home-like setting with structure and stability.
- Build rapport and become a role model for children and youth.
- Teach and follow safety and campus protocols and routines.
- Promote excellent educational habits and provide academic support, as needed.
- Lead the home to promote spiritual and emotional development.
- Be a good steward of all resources provided to and for the children at CFM.
- Plan, execute, and teach independent living skills such as meal preparation, chores, etc.
- Facilitate all scheduled activities in a timely manner, appropriately dressed.
- Complete documentation requirements according to protocol/timeline.
- Work within an allotted budget for the home.
- Cooking meals, cleaning, laundry and supervising children’s chores

Required Qualifications:
- 25 years of age or older
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Pass all required background checks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous or current experience as licensed foster parent
- Married couple (3+ years) willing to work together within the role.
