Guest Services Director

POSITION OVERVIEW

The position description serves to provide clarity for all the duties and responsibilities expected of the Charleston Campus Guest Services Director. The primary focus of this role is to advance and execute the vision, mission & values of Awaken Church by creating, developing, and evaluating excellent Sunday experiences and supporting systems that assimilate attenders into discipleship processes and ministries.

GUEST SERVICE DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development and Growth of the Guest Services Team

• Utilize the Awaken Leadership Pipeline to help build and sustain a system that empowers people to Discover Their Purpose and Make A Difference at Awaken Church 
• Mobilize the Guest Services Dream Team to provide an excellent Sunday morning experience.
• Recruit and lead volunteer teams to perform weekly functions.
• Manage onboarding processes and develop workshop content for team health and growth. 
• Facilitate the completion of “Sunday ready” duties for Sunday experience excellence. 

Support Campus Growth & Discipleship Growth through Next Step Assimilation

• Partner with the Campus Pastor to drive next steps and execution of follow up on next steps taken at the campus.
• Specifically focused on the ownership of the following next step processes: 
• New Here, Baptism, Awaken 101, and/or any other delegated processes for assimilation into the church body. 

Facility Excellence and Event Management 

• Work with Campus Team and Operations Pastor to ensure high standard of excellence in the facility.
• Manage CHS Campus resources with intention and purpose to steward well the resources given to the campus team. 

Additional Delegated Campus Responsibilities 

• This position includes that potential to absorb additional roles and responsibilities as needed. Agreement upon those needs are discussed between the CHS Campus Pastor, Directional Leadership Team, and CHS Guest Services Director when need is introduced. These additions are to be written in an addendum to the position. 

KEY MEASURABLES AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Below are metrics and indicators of ownership and success by which positional success will be evaluated. Measurable metrics will be determined by campus level goals and subject to agreement between the CHS Campus Guest Services, CHS Campus Pastor, and Executive Pastor. This is not an exhaustive list and is subject to change. 

• Volunteer Team Health and Guest Services Team Growth
• Healthy Leadership Pipeline Metrics (maintenance and growth)
• Campus Excellence and Alignment with Vision of Awaken Church 
• Meeting and/or Exceeding Campus Goals for Assimilation into Discipleship Processes 
• Meeting Timelines and Procedural Expectations

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES

• Devote the whole of your time, attention and skill during normal business hours, and at other times as reasonably necessary, to your duties;
• Faithfully and diligently perform the duties and exercise the powers consistent with your position as assigned to you from time to time;
• Comply with all lawful directions given to you by any person duly authorized from time to time;
• Use your best endeavors to promote and enhance the interests, welfare, business, growth and reputation of the Church;
• At all times act to a high standard of professional behavior;
• Not act, or be seen to be acting, in conflict with the best interests of the Church;

SKILL, ABILITY & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 3 years vocational ministry experience related to volunteer development, guest connections, and/or process management or like-kind emphasis. 
• Ability and experience managing and developing leaders.
• Experience with people based management softwares and databases.
• High school diploma required, higher ed degree preferred.

Awaken Church with its broad vision will continue to grow and expand. Anyone accepting any staff role must understand that “ongoing change” will always be part of this church, and therefore must be flexible, open to challenge & willing to move and grow with that ongoing vision.

Awaken Church exists so that people far from God will be awakened to life in Christ. We are one church in two locations. Our Charleston Campus, which is our broadcast location, is located in the North Charleston/West Ashley area. Our Summerville Campus is portable and meets weekly in the Cane Bay area. We focus intentionally on helping people know God, find freedom, discover their purpose, and make a difference.
