Summary of Position: You will work to achieve the Chapel’s mission of helping people meet, know and follow Jesus by providing leadership and direction the Chapel’s Middle and High School Ministry at its two locations. 


Job Specifics: The Youth Director will address the following areas…


  • Next Gen Ministry: Be a collaborative and supportive member of the Chapel’s Next Gen Ministry. The Youth Director and Kids Director will work together to shape the Next Gen Ministry in alignment with the Chapel’s mission and values. The goal is to create a strong partnership between the church and the family.


  • Global Champion: Be the global champion by providing leadership for the Youth Ministry at its two locations; alignment between mission, locations, curriculum, youth volunteers and staff, etc.


  • Volunteer Recruiter: Be a recruiter and developer of leaders that will invest relationally in the lives of middle and high school youth, leading to discipleship. The position will require the leader to raise up and equip others to connect relationally with youth on the weekends and throughout the week.


  • Biblical Teacher: Be a teacher of God’s Word and a developer of others to lead youth to understand and apply the Bible to their lives.


  • Shepherd Leader: Be a shepherd that provides care and support to students, their families, and volunteers.


  • Organizer/Dreamer: Be a dreamer/organizer of events, retreats and trips that create community, provide an entry point for new youth to connect and moves the mission of the Chapel forward.


  • Technically Skilled: Be proficient in the use of technology and other social media to reach/communicate with youth.


  • Budget Minded: Be responsible for the spending and oversite of the yearly Youth Ministry budget.


  • Mission Supporter: Be a supporter of the Chapel’s "sending efforts" that help students be globally minded to God's call to reach the world.


  • Lead Team Member: Be a positive participant of the Chapel's Lead Team as the champion for the Youth Ministry.

 

Qualifications:

  • A track record of spiritual maturity and character consistent with biblical leadership
  • A relational leader that sees fun and doing life with students, their families, and our team as a value
  • A college degree; preferably a biblical degree or student ministry degree
  • Have 3-5 years’ experience on a paid staff leading or connected with Youth Ministry
  • Have a passion to reach and disciple unchurched students and their families
  • Have an understanding of a Church/Parent Ministry model.
  • Be a self-motivated leader, loving life on a team without the need for micromanagement
  • Be a gifted communicator that can convey biblical truth in an age appropriate manner
  • Be a problem solver, having a successful track record of project and event management
  • Have the ability to recruit, develop, and lead teams of volunteers
  • Agree with and embrace the culture, vision and doctrinal statement of The Chapel
