Shelbina First Baptist Church is seeking a man of God to lead our congregation. Our church is located in rural northeast Missouri in a town of 1600+ people, within a county of 6100 residents. The church began in 1858 and is currently served by 8 deacons, and 6 trustees who oversee the church properties. Our congregation has recently built a new church building which includes a fellowship hall. The church was built without incurring any debt. We own a nice parsonage which the pastor will reside in. The church will pay the utilities and insurance.
Shelbina FBC is a member of the Bethel Baptist Association, the Missouri Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention. We are committed to The Cooperative Program, the Lottie Moon Christmas offering, the Annie Armstrong Easter offering, and the Missouri State Missions offering.
Candidate should possess the characteristics listed by Paul in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
We expect our pastor to be a student of God's Word, committed to personal evangelism as defined in Matthew 28:19-20, and discipleship as defined in II Timothy 2:2.
He should visit the sick, the elderly, and the troubled as needed, and be easily accessible.
He shall be able to perform weddings and funerals.
We expect him to be visible to and a witness to the secular community just as Christ and the apostles were.
The pastor shall deliver Biblically based sermons on Sunday morning and Sunday evening. He will also lead a short Bible study and prayer meeting on Wednesday evenings, and preside over business meetings. He is expected to attend deacons' meetings where he will serve as an ex-officio member. He shall be able to do Biblical based counseling, including pre-marital counseling.
The pastor will oversee and work with e staff which includes a 1/2 time youth minister, a worship/music leader, a 1/2 time secretary and a custodian.
He must accept and adhere to the tenets of the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message,
The pastor must see himself as the shepherd of God's flock and help them to grow in their spiritual lives.

We are a SBC church which holds to the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message. We are located in Shelbina, Missouri a rural community of approximately 1700 people. We are seeking a senior pastor. We have a bi-vocational youth minister, a church secretary, and a custodian.
The congregation originated in 1858 and has been meeting ever since then. We. built a new church in 2020-21 and there is no debt. Services are: Sunday school @ 9:00 am., Worship @ 10:15 a.m., Sunday Evening Bible Study @ 6:00 p.m. led by a deacon, Sunday evening worship 7:00 p.m.. Wednesday night fellowship supper 5:30 p.m., Prayer meeting & Bible Study @ 6:00 p.m. We minister on Sunday afternoons with short worship services at 2 local nursing homes on a rotation basis with other community Protestant churches.
We support the Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon Christmas offering and the Annie Armstrong Easter offering. Our church is affiliated with the Bethel Baptist Association and is a member of the Missouri Baptist Convention. We send delegates to the meeting of these groups.
