Formal Responsibilities:

– The pastor will be expected to preform weekly sermons and lead worship services.

– He will work closely with the deacons to lead and guide the church.

– He will visit hospitalized, grieving, and homebound members.

– He will Provide counseling, perform weddings and funerals as requested.

– Lead/participate in choosing and securing the most suitable educational and curriculum materials available.

– Perform baptisms and officiate at the Lord’s supper.

Southern Hills Baptist Church, located in Sioux City, IA, is in the process of searching for the next pastor to lead our congregation. Located in northwest Iowa, the three state and five county metro population is around 170,00.

We are seeking a full-time Pastor with seminary, and 5-10 years previous experience preferred. Our present attendance is 50 -70 in the Sunday morning service, with no evening service since the pandemic. Sunday school and mid-week services are still held. Therefore, we are seeking a ministry-building minded pastor.
