Worship Leader

Summary of Position:

Lawrence Drive Baptist Church is actively seeking a part time worship leader to serve our congregation and community. The chosen candidate will be tasked with the responsibility of biblical worship as leader of the music program of our church. Lawrence Drive is a mission minded Southern Baptist Church whose body is passionate about serving Jesus and becoming more like Him. We strive to model the ordinances, teachings and doctrines set forth in the New Testament for the local church. Our desire is to nurture members through Christian education, fellowship, service and discipleship. We are looking for someone to build our members up in their faith, love and worship through music and worship. Established in 1968 we currently have an average attendance in our Sunday morning worship service of approximately 200. If you are an excited, called and gifted worship leader then this position may be for you. If you are a spiritual leader who can infuse and excite young adults through the preached gospel and dynamic, powerful, sincere and insightful studies then this position may be for you.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required:

·        High School Diploma or equivalent.

·        Formal musical training preferred.

Experience and Knowledge Required:

·        A vibrant and true Christian salvation and testimony.

·        A true calling and giftedness in the areas of music and worship.

·        A minimum of 2 years’ experience as Worship Leader or Minister of Music at a similar sized church is desired.

·        Solid theological understanding and grounding.

·        Positive attitude and a positive approach to problem solving.

·        Strong organizational and time management skills and a pursuit of excellence through attention to detail.

·        Ability to communicate the Gospel through word, musical and vocal worship to various ages in our congregation.

·        Proven ability to lead and serve on teams.

·        Ability to contribute to the vision of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church which can be summarized by Ephesians 4:12-13.

·        Ability to lead and feed our team of musicians and vocalists.

·        Ability to lead a spirit empowered and filled worship service.

·        Ability to lead a choir if necessary.

·        Ability to produce musical productions at special times like Easter and Christmas.

·        Ability to interact and work with a variety of people through superior interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to resolve conflict in a Biblical manner.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·        Develop and oversee the praise and worship service, coordinating with the Senior Pastor of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church.

·        Assist the Senior Pastor in the planning and conduction of Sunday morning and potentially evening worship services along with Wednesday prayer meeting and/ or bible studies.

·        Work closely with ministry leaders at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church.

·        Consistent communication with key leaders and committees.
