Our church is seeking to call a worship pastor to serve on the pastoral team of First Baptist Church of Franklin.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Title: Worship Pastor
Supervision: Senior Pastor
Status: Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY
The Worship Pastor will serve as one of the pastors of FBC Franklin. The Worship Pastor is
responsible for the overall direction, planning, and execution of the Worship Ministry at FBC Franklin.
The Worship Pastor is also responsible for the development and leadership of the staff and
volunteers connected to the Worship Ministry.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
● Oversee the planning and execution of the weekly worship services with other pastors
● Curate theologically correct and culturally relevant musical elements
● Lead in musical worship for worship services of the church
● Actively develop others to lead in musical worship
● Plan and lead effective rehearsals
● Manage and maintain technology associated with the Worship Ministry
● Oversee all Worship and fine arts related initiatives
● Participate with other ministerial staff in pastoral ministry
REQUIREMENTS FOR FAITHFULNESS
● Be a mature and growing Christ-follower walking in Biblical integrity
● Leads a life governed by the Bible and in accordance with 1 Timothy 3:2-7
● A clear call to vocational ministry and servant leadership
● Be willing to approach ministry serving as one of the pastors of the church
● Be in full doctrinal alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message 2000

● Ability to lead from an instrument
● Capacity to lead people in a rehearsal environment effectively & creatively with vocalists, bands,
choirs, etc.
● Effective and professional communication skills
● Display relational awareness and care for others
● Ensure the success of volunteers through effective planning and organization
● Ability to organize, focus, and multitask while being flexible
● Kind personality, able to engage the congregation during worship and be able to effectively
administrate and lead the music
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
● Has obtained or currently pursuing seminary education (or desires and plans to begin)
● Experience serving with church music needed although having held a formal position is not
required
